Thought I'd take a sec and say hi.
Name is Rusty, located near the Shreveport area. I work in the military (13 yrs) and Live to bass fish. Tourney fishing is my passion. I try to fish a tourney every weekend. I'm a member of another site, but got tired of the...and was referred to here and love it. I guess you could say I'm addicted to catching those little green fish. ;D Just something about running across the water just prior to sun up on a crisp morning, getting to my spot, nobody else around, pitch a jig, feel the thump, set the hook and feel the fish shake its head and know it a bigg'n. Tight lines and good hook-ups. Rusty.

Red River pool 4 fishing
E-tec we saw you in there and it was nice to talk with you. We lost one in there and that was it for us. 20 March report. I fished that tourney for the St. Jude kids and trailered to the Jungle. Launched at Red Oak ramp (very nice ramp). We fished the big pad field in the jungle all day and caught 3 keepers, one dink and a 15 lb grinnal. All fish came on black/blue jigs swimming them thru the pad stems and stumps. Water is clearing up nice with some areas clear. Temp was 62* on outer edges and 64* shallow in the back. The fish were shallow in the moring but started to back off to a little deeper water as the day went on. If you go in there, be sure to fish the edges of the ditches. Pitch to big stumps and around mated grass clumps. Good luck all.

Red River pool 4 fishing
Well, here is how Saturday treated us. Wind very strong out of the NW @25mph. We started in the Wagon Wheel, water temp was 54* calm water and not a single bite, moved to the Bridge lake and had a couple slaps at a spinner bait. Very muddy, temp 55* lots of current. Moved to the School Bus and had a nice one pull off on a jig and lost another on the jig. Water was muddy and 55.3*. Talked to a couple of others who caught a couple in there. Said the bite for them was slow too. We moved to the Jungle and fished where the Pro's did in the classic and started catching fish shallow on Black/blue jigs. Water was stained to clear, temp 58.5* The fish would only hit the jig if it was swimming. I was using a 1/2oz swim jig and partner was using a 3/16 oz bitzy bug. We only boated two fish but lost probably 10. Another boat in there caught 7 that day. We went back to pool 5 for the weigh-in and found out that a guy caught one over 11 lbs. Needless to say he got big bass and won the tourney with 20 lbs, four fish. Lot of guys said that the fish were active but short striking the bait. Another guy just fun fishing caught a 10 lber and got it registered and weighed. We didn't catch a bunch but had a great day on the water.

Red River pool 4 fishing
Good morning all. I'm new to the site but have been reading the reports for a couple of weeks now. My partner and I will be fishing in Pool 4 on the Red in a small tourney. It high and muddy, but I'll post how we did afterwards and the water conditions. It's been nice the past couple of days so I hope you all have a great weekend.
