  1. It bothers me alot longer if i don't get to see the fish, then my imagination gets the best of me on the size of it.
  2. I haven't tried the baking soda recipe or the other recipe. I've copied, pasted, and saved the Asti recipe and will def give it a try with fish. It sounds great. We are in the process of moving homes, and i can't think of a better house warming dinner than giving that recipe a try and pairing it up with some Prime ribeyes or Prime strip steaks. Thanks for the recipe!
  3. Yeah like i said earlier they were out of my pond, i haven't ever kept any bass from a public lake. I don't live in a tent, but have stayed the night in a few..... Maybe bass are a comfort food or just bring back childhood memories, but i love the taste of bass fried up with peanut oil. Don't get me wrong i'd much rather go to Oceanaire or a Michael Mina restaurant for some chipino, but once or twice a summer its hard to beat fried bass with friends out by the pool.
  4. Those fish are out of my pond that i paid to have stocked, but i'm sure if i catch all of them out of there the local fish farm will be more than glad to have my business
  5. That is a great bass! I'd love for my wife to catch one like that! Of course i'd be jealous if she did because i've never caught one that big
  6. Congrats on your fish! Glad to see i'm not the only person who doesn't use a jig much. I never used one growing up and now i really regret it. I know they catch really big fish from all the videos and stuff i've read on them in magazines, but i have zero confidence in using them. I forced myself last fall to use a jig for a couple of days in a row, and by forcing myself i honestly only took my jig box and some trailers. I knew if i didn't leave my other tackle at home the jigs would be off of my reels in a heartbeat. I caught a few fish, but really didn't gain much confidence in it.
  7. Good looking fish, what did you catch it on?
  8. Is that a regular worm with a curl tail or some crazy shaped worm i haven't seen before? Either way that is an impressive day of fishing!
  9. Haha, for some reason Roland Martin drives me crazy. BUT.......He's the great american fisherman, he'll fish anywhere, anywhere there's water you know he'll be there
  10. I was on a cattle drive with my good friend Sean an Irish boy, and as we were crossing the Rio Grande he was attacked and killed by water moccasins. One even bit him in the face....... I named my boy Augustus if that gives you any idea of how much i like that movie!
  11. I don't know if you've ever checked out tinboats.net but there is a TON of info on working on older boats and everyone over there seems really helpfull. You might check it out if you get a chance.
  12. Anyone know of any good, decent, or just holes with water in them around dallas to fish from the bank? I'm from Oklahoma, but my wife LOVES going to dallas and shopping we are probably down there a couple of weekends a month. I'm wanting to find a couple of places i could fish from the bank. It sure would beat walking around the mall for hours......
  13. Yeah i'm actually looking forward to catching another one. I was watching Hank Parker today and he was doing a 25th anniversary show and one of the clips was of a drum that he caught while fishing with his brother. The fish was a monster, it never did actually show what it weighed, but it was big enough for him to "try" to put it in the livewell and take it in to be weighed. I don't know if anyone else saw that episode, but its a really good one it shows him fishing with his friends and family over the years. Wasn't alot of fishing in the episode, but def worth watching for reminders of why fishing is so great.
  14. I agree with Speadbead the 4" seems really small esp when you compare it with the 5" bait. I caught the 3 crappie on the 4" swimbait.
  15. I bet that fish put up one heck of a fight scott. Looks like a blast.
