just traded my 98 283 f/s for a 2009 stratos 285.seems like a nice boat.It has a150 optimax.it does seem a little slow out of the hole but i only took it out for a quick test drive and am not sure if i had it trimmed right.the f/s was very quick to get on plane but i have had that boat 11 years and know it pretty well.any info other 285 owners might have would be greatly appreciated.

i am looking to buy a new boat. i currently own a statos 285 f/s.saw a few yesterday and i am trying to decide between a stratos 285 xl,nitro z-7 or a triton 18hp explorer.the nitro looks nice but i wonder if it might be a little slow with a 150, the stratos and the triton are both very nice also.any input would be appreciated

I have three of them and an stx. the sx is a great reel.I got a deal at gander mnt. for the stx.i think there trying to dump last years models since they changed them a little this year.

i have owned two.had problems with both. they worked fine for about eight months before they acted up.
