  1. Where is the float switch, on the pump itself? But even if there is a float switch should I not still be able to turn the pump on manually? Any recommendations on a good inexpensive pump? Its only a 16ft boat how big of one do I need? Thanks again guys
  2. Hey guys I am looking for some information on bilge pumps. I bought a boat last fall and never got it in the water, stored it over the winter and started going through it this spring to get everything ready. My question is does the motor have to be running for the bilge pump to work? I turn on the switch and do not here it kick on. When I hit the switch for my aerator I can hear it kick on. I thought maybe that it was a bad relay switch but connected the bilge pump connections to the ones that the aerator was on and still nothing. If it is garbage whats your recommendations for a new inexpensive pump. I am new to owning a boat and just looking for some help. Thanks in advance! Schmitty
  3. Unfortuantly the gentleman has passed and no one knows what mechanic it was taken to, thats why im looking for help and/or suggestions! Thanks
  4. Hey guys hope someone can help me with a few questions! I bought a 1984 Trophy last year that has a 1984 force 85 hp motor on it. It is my first boat and I want to make sure that I am taking all the precautions to ensure its performance. The lower unit was drained last fall but other than that I don't know what the guy did to winterize the motor. What are my steps to get it fishing ready this spring? Whats the best oils to use and fuel? I have been trying to do as much research as I can and I keep getting different answers. Some guys are telling me that it I have to mix the fuel 50.1, others 100.1, and i have had a couple guys tell me that its oil injected and as long as the oil reservoir is full it will be fine. NOT WHAT IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR! I went in on the boat with my father-in-law and was not there when it was transferred, the previous owner said that they motor was gone through the year before my a master mechanic and it ran good. They did hook it up to a garden hose and the father-in-law said it ran good. The inside of the motor is very clean and looks to be well maintained but i just want to make sure that I am doing everything right before I get it in the water. Thanks in advance for your help!!! Aaron
