New CURADO 50 E
I love my 50MG7 and will probably pick up a new Curado 50 to try out when they become available. 80-90 yards of line is plenty for anything I need to do while bass fishing. Cranks, spinners, jigs, buzzbaits...you name it.

Ike's new reel?
Actually when TT reviews a reel they use it for months before putting out their results. But yes, I don't base my purchases purely on what they say. Those Ike reels above are just a prototype of another reel. The Ike version isn't be produced right now.

Looking to pick up a few rods need advise avid or loomis
I would try and get your hands on both an Avid 70MM and 70MHM before you buy one. The MM is very whippy and in my opinion only good for real small cranks. I sold mine and bought the MHM which I think is a way better all around cranking rod. I toss everything from Baby -1's to DT16's with that rod.

cleaning my reel
Are you just giving it an external cleaning or breaking it down to the frame to clean and relube everything?

What about your State?
Another Minnesotan here. I agree it sucks waiting for bass opener, but I think we have some of the best fishing in the country too, so I don't think we should change anything and risk affecting the fishing. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Power or Finesse?
Mostly finess for me. But love a 1/2 spinner or buzzbait for power fishing.

Sensitive subject
Sure live bait works, and its great for kids. But just sitting there staring at a bobber is not much fun IMO.

Fighting Bass. Tip up, or down?
Both for me too. Depends on the situation.

"the one that got away"
It sucks losing one, but assess the situation, see what you did wrong and learn from it.
