Okeechobee Rim Canal
most in the canal were smaller 1-3 lbs. We fished there after the main lake where we had a couple of 4-6 lbers. yes-most of the canal is a rocky bottom. we fished from a boat, I wouldn't recommend fishing across from the other side as the canal gets a lot of boat traffic. good luck!!

Okeechobee Rim Canal
I was there last weekend, just west of Roland's. Due to the drought, it is extremely shallow in areas. we pitched toward the lake side of the canal using worms t-rigged. Caught about 15-20 in 60-90 minutes. June-bug color was the ticket that day. the bottom is awfully rocky-so be prepared to get snagged a couple of times. The fish seemed to be where the gators were or vice versa.

swimsenko longevity
I love to fish swimsenkos. For me, they are very productive. I find that when I set the hook and bring in the fish, the swimsenko rarely gets pulled up with the fish. In other words, 1 swimsenko per fish. I rig them T-rigged or Florida rigged with a 1/16 bullet sinker. Is there a way to rig these so I still get a little depth and have a less likely chance of ripping the worm off with my hooksets? keeper hook or twistlock doesn't seem to make much difference either when I use them.

Any Columbus Georgia Fishermen here?
I grew up in Columbus when I was a kid a long time ago. I lived not too far from Cooper Creek Park. I also remember going to Flat Rock Park on occasion. I mostly fished on some private ponds at a friends place in Waverly Hall. Good times.

Dock fishing swimsenko
I fish with both baits. The skinny Dippers have a larger profile but the action seems to be similar in my opinion. Its a good bait, especially here in FL. I think its a little easier to set the hook on the smaller profile swimsenko.

Dock fishing swimsenko
I fish them T-rigged with a screw in bullet weight 1/8 oz. I like to swim them near the bottom. Fish can't seem to leave this bait alone. I do like the 5" senkos too, but I fish those mostly weightless. Durability, IMO, is questionable with the senkos due to the very soft plastic. They do catch fish pretty regularly so I ain't complaining.

Okeeheelee Park (central Palm Beach county)
My daughter is fishing in a kids tournament next weekend. Any tips on which lake she should concentrate on? lure preference? We tried to pre-fish it today and got skunked. I did have a good hit on a Berkeley lizard, however.

yum dancin eel, anyone try them?????
I have caught fish on them. Stay with the larger lure variety instead of the baby dancin eel. The hooks tend to get caught in my line a little too often for my taste.

fish doesnt recover from hookset
i was fishing with my 9yr old daughter yesterday and she hooked a 2lb bass with a trick worm. The bass hit the bait so hard that the hook was pretty much swallowed and the fish was bleeding pretty bad from the gills upon exit from the water. I had needle nose pliers and got the hook out relatively easy, but when we released the fish, the fish never recovered and swam away--it just floated on its side. My daughter was traumatized. I tried to tell her that a bird or other animal that needed to eat would get a meal, but it didn't make her feel any better. Anybody suggest what I can tell her so that she won't feel so bad?

Reaction Innovation's skinny dippers
I bought a pack of these the other day, I'm just trying to figure out the best way to present this bait. Any ideas or recommendations??
