  1. hey man...i wrote you a message on the other post
  2. hey man...well poplar tree fishes really shallow all year long. It has alot of deep water in it, and ive cought some fish deep over the years, but to me i would stay shallow. I catch alot of fish with shallow cranks and pitching tubes to all the shallow wood. There are alot of fish there, theres just not much size. Its always been a lake were ive went and tried new tech. becouse your always gonna get bit. The water stays pretty stained all year so i use alot of darker colors, and my goto lure there is a bomber B1 squarbill thats been custom paited chartruse/purple....i hope this helps some..I live right around the corner in fawn lake so if you ever wanna hook up and go PM me
  3. without a doubt those are the best looking baits i have ever seen......Id like to have one just to put it on display above my fireplace!
  4. Ive seen pics in magazines of cranks were they have a little weight hanging from the front and sometimes back split ring.....Does this effect anything other than the weight?? also what are they called where do i get them? thanks guys
  5. Man...some of you guys have the life!! I have never been able to have the space i need for all my stuff.....But we are in the process of moving and i will have me a 24' x 24' man cave to work with, and i cant wait! I have tote after tote stacked in the laundry room waiting to go to its new home...haha
  6. I have used both, cheap and expensive.....And the expensive ones have a slight edge. but to me its not enough for me to spend $200.00 ever agian..I was always woried about breaking them or scraching up the lens. So i would go to walmart and get some strike kings for $5-$15 bucks and know that your gonna see the same stumps and bedding bass as the guy in $60,000 boat and $300 glasses.
  7. I have tons of soft plastics and I would have to say ZOOM! I believe they have the truest best colors, they are durable, and you get more for your money in a bag. They have the most variety of lures and styles. The only issue i have with them is that they dont use any sent. I will say this, i will only use strike king tubes. there the best in that dept.
  8. I agree...i would go buy some cheap football heads and fish it faster. Ive never had trouble with jigs, but with shaky heads!!!!!!!!!! Man, i have lost so many jig heads over the past few years! Also, mabey try a really bulky trailer....something that might give it some more lift???
  9. 1.)brush hog & baby brush hog or any creature bait really 2.)Trick worm 3.)Any worm with ribs in it 4.)zoom ol' monster(plum apple) I manley use some variation of green pumpkin in all these baits.....I just started using the ol monster this year as a c-rig bait and im suprised how well its been working!!
  10. yea it does feel pretty good...well i used the tennis racket type. It had some padding in it....ill give that a try
  11. I was givin 2 bps cranking stick for fathers day....I usually remove all cork and for grip, and split grip the handle with eva.......My main concern is that bps reel seats are big a wide!!!! Could i even find eva that would come close to matching up??? Also the forgrip is the cork clickdown version, that ive never modified one of those before....any suggestions on that would be helpfull too....I like the actions of these rods, its just ive gottin so used to modifing my rods down to there bear bones, and with these i feel like i using a pool noodle grip or somthing...please help

I fish poplar tree lake lake around the corner from my house 3 times a week, and i go up to glen springs often too...All my tournament have been on the river this year so thats all the places ive been. Iv been catching them deep of course....but I am in love with squarebills so i been trying to force feed them latley...I would still love to live in jackson and be near all those lakes yall have

  18. hey man....a tube is my a go to bait of mine. I fish it like a worm....flip it...pitch it. i cant believe your not getting bites! i used to have the same problem with deep cranks....then one day it all came together, and i was hooked.
  19. beautiful !!
  20. man....ive gotta say those are some of the best rods i have ever seen posted...great work man
  21. to me...you have better hookups with striat shanks, but no matter what people try to make you believe...they always waad up bumping cover....its frustrating to me. What i do now is use a ewg hook and bend the point slightly out of line and tada!!! no more waad ups and higher hook up percintages...ewg for me
  22. they are great reels...i hate the green color....i think of only on thing when i see a green reel...CURADO....
  23. awsome guys.....all ive been doing here latley is fish poplar tree lake in shelby forest just about everyday after work...been catching 20-30 an afternoon on tubes and squarebills.....moneys been tight so i havent been able to fish anywhere far from home....got a torney out of camden landing the 12th and 13th....our tourney this month was won with 4.13 on saturday and 1.13 on sunday...talk about tough, im glad i wasent there...they said the water was dropping 2 foot a day!!!!
