had a 797-sold it, got a 997, not very happy with it. Not sure about the newer models but on mine if you want to read while on a plane you need a second transducer. Might want to look at the Lowrance HD, I think it is a much better unit,but thats just me.

Dont know if you have a Gander Mountain near or not but they have a Malibu Mini x you might like. It has tons of room and almost cant be flipped. I think it was about $500 or $550. what ever you get make sure you get the BEST seat you can.

Hey Basslovr, I have several boats but have more fun and catch more fish from my yak,you are going to love the yak. I live just north of you and fish the ocala forest, lots of ponds there. Go to Google earth and you will find more places to fish then you have time for,also x2 on the kayakbassfishing.com Hal
