what kind of effect will all the rain we've gotten in Eastern NE have on the Bass? and what is everybody using now that the water on most of the lakes has gone from what somewhat clear to muddy?

thanks for the advice,next time I go out that way I will take advantage of it and hopefully ask the right person.

yeah,I was getting that feeling when I was driving by the lakes so I'm not sure if it is even worth trying to gain access to them. Iowa does have a lot of private ponds and lakes I just haven't had a chance to make it over there yet.

If anybody on here knows someone that lives on one of the private lakes on 264th street between Venice NE, and Valley NE, I was wondering if you could point me there way,I fished at a lake around this area this afternoon that was still in the process of being developed and caught 8 or so 3 lb'rs.

Does anybody here know of any good farm ponds they would be willing to give up where they are?,My family has a farm with a couple large ponds in Southern Iowa but its a 3+ hour drive from Omaha so I'll need to make a weekend of it if I want to go there.

thanks for tips,I'll see how it goes the first couple of times out and see if I need to put a leader on there. I went with 8 lb. test so not to light and not to heavy since the reel I have has a max line weight of 8 lb. test.

yeah the guy I talked to said the fireline takes a little getting used to but after I do I should really like it,I will probably go out friday and try it out.

After multiple failed attempts to fish successfully with flourocarbon on my spinning reel I returned the line and had my reel respooled with Berkley fireline after talking to the fishing guys at the local Scheel's.I haven't gone out and used my reel yet but when I do I'm hoping for better results.

Hey everybody,I went out for the first time this season this evening and was just curious what other people are having luck catching fish with. I fished at the unopened park right off Dodge st. near Elkhorn and caught a few small bass with a spinnerbait,what's working well at other lakes in the area? and another question,has anybody else had problems with flourocarbon jumping off the spool? I'm using it for the first time and i'm not sure if its because its only 6 pound test or what.

Hello,I've lived in NE for close to 4 years and was turned on to this site by member RWhusker who I talked to at Lowe's over the weekend. I joined to learn more about good places to fish around Omaha and also what is working for people to catch big bucket mouths. I look forward to learning more from this site.
