cool! eventually i do wanna spend some coin on something really nice, but i just went to wal mart about 5 mins ago and go a 7' ugly stick combo! it was about 34 bucks. thanks for the input. i'll keep you all posted on how i do this weekend on the creek in ohio. thanks again
ok, so i need a new set up but i dont want to spend a bunch of money. they have good cheap stuff at wal mart, mostly shakespere. is shakespeare any good? reel or rod?
what are some ways to rig up softbaits and tubes/grubs? i normally fish with spinners, plastic worms, and crankbaits. not very experienced on fishing with grubs and or softbaits. i usually use my plastic worm texas rigged but i'll be fishing some creeks and streams. any advice?
i do have a baitcasting set up on a 6.5' rod. its a cheapo tho so its castability is crappy unless i have some serious weight to cast. i thought maybe the small spinning set up may add some funcionality to using smaller lures and jigs... i'm no pro tho
thanks to you both! i always thought cover and structure were the same thing... i'm gonna end up using a microspinning combo. (short rod, small reel) hopefully this will make it easier to get in tight places and add a fun challenge! if you have any other tips, lets me know.
i come from an area where i grew up only catching largemouth bass due to the fact that they were the only bass species around. i am now in an area that has both and want to try my luck at catching some smallies! what types of lures/ jigs/ baits should i use to catch smallmouth in creeks and streams?
