I was out with my family on Saturday, canoed upstream from rt 225 to the end of the long straightaway. Got something like 6 crappie and a small (ca. 15 in) pike, plus a nice gill, using small floating crankbait. No bass, but I was too lazy to switch to senko / rubber worm. With a 2-year old in the boat, I'll take action over size, just to keep him interested. Definitely good manners on the river that day, but it hasn't always been the case.
If you see a family of three out there in a canoe with an umbrella sticking out of the bow, that's me. Now I don't have to worry about the old question "What would you rather do, go fishing or spend time with your family?"
