  1. Wife and I won Malibu x-faxctor and extreme yaks. Outfitted correctly, they are comfortable and can take you where other fishermen only dream about. Especially in low water areas, which are commonon htis year in Texas. Where the fish are spawning most boats can't get to. These models are stable but a little heavy. They are designed for fishing and are also popular for coastal fishing.
  2. Anyone using their 510 series all aluminum pontoon boat or have knowledge of their products? Considering this for wife and I to fish small lakes with dog. Would probably us 4 to 6 HP outboard and bow mount trolling motor. Web site info looks like well made products.
  3. Anyone buying the components and assembling their own? I noticed components are available. Any recommendations to tackle supply that has quality components and is reputable?
  4. Thanks ReelMech, you have a great site, sure I will call on you if I venture into rod building.
  5. I want to explore rod building and would appreciate any recommendations on good guides/books on the subject. Any recommendations to good suppliers of the necessary tools and materials also appreciated.
  6. Comparison of Tracker 2006 Pro Team 175 TX to Lowe Stinger 170, any experiences with either or pro/con suggestions appreciated, starting the shopping process and these two seem to fit my needs. Welcome input from current or previous owners of either make/model. Intended use is small to medium size lake fishing for wife and I, no tournaments or large lakes, weekend outings.
  7. Saw ad in local paper for 16' aluminum jon boat; trolling motor, near new 9 HP gas motor, trailer. Without calling and getting my hopes up, is a 9HP engine enough for a 16' jon boat? I know it will say on boat if I go look, just trying to get some feedback first. Ad is asking $3k If so, will it still be enough when I deck it and outfit it for two people to fish? Thanks,
