  3. I was hopping on top of some crazy thick moss, had cleared it by like 10 feet and was actually reeling in my slack to bring it back in for a recast when she hit it. She hit right as i hit the end of my slack so luckily the hook set. Had to drage through a tone of moss and couldnt even see the fish when i got it to the boat. The whole pile wieghed like 20 lbs Luckily i run 35lb braid on my frog setup ;D
  4. Thanks. I just started back up fishing a couple years ago after a 10 year break after high school so i have a lot to learn. Was never too serious about it when younger but i'm as addicted as it gets now. Just need to convince the wife that its a necessary expenditure now
  5. picture is in my sig if u dont want to go to photobucket. Still trying to figure out how to post directly into my thread.
  6. Caught this at a new local pond that is turning out to be full of 3+ pounders. Small pond about an acre with at least 1/2 completely covered in moss. caught it first time out with my new spro poppin frog. Weighed 4lbs 10ozs. My buddy caught a 5lbs 10oz 2 days later. I usually fish lakes but hit ponds during the week for a little confidence boost. http://i676.photobucket.com/albums/vv127/figure8racer/410.jpg

  8. Ok so i bought a zillion and a viento used from a guy locally and have started to have some problems with the viento. When i first started using it it worked great casted a mile and no problems. After a few weeks it started to make noise when spooling out and was harder to turn the crank when reeling in. I put some oil in the hole on the right side behind the crank. (used to adjust the side to side tension of the spool) I dont think i was supposed to put oil in there because the noise was reduced but my casting distance maxed out at about 15 yards. I realized my error and pulled the entire reel apart and cleaned everything. I greased the gears and oiled the bearings. I also added just a little oil to each end of the spool thinking it would make it run out smoother. After i got everything together i went out to cast it and same problem with distance. The reel cranks smooth again but just no distance. I did notice while putting it all back together that the spool tension adjust hole that i added oil to originally basically put oil in the same spot that i added it to the spool when reassembling so this may be the problem. My main question is would adding oil in this manner cause this problem or should i start looking at my magnetic brakes/other areas. Any information would be greatly appraciated so this reel doesnt sit around any longer than it has too. By the way my zillion is the smootherst farthest casting reel i have ever encountered. If the viento ended up being junk which i dont think it is i'd be happy either way since i got both for $150 ;D
