  1. I'm up for a get together. I've been sitting on ice all winter and while I been catching fish I cant wait to get back on some soft water.
  2. I was out on Heads pond on Sat. We followed others tracks out and at one point the guy in the lead sank up to his knees!! He said the ice was safe but sometimes the weight of the snow pushes the ice down a bit and some water comes over the top. Scared the crap out of me but when we got to where we were fishing the ice was 15 inches thick.this was my first time out on the ice. I don't think I'll go anywhere without someone hows been on the lake this winter.
  3. A friend of my has a lot of luck at Heads Pond. He is always sending pics of all the bass he's caught this year. last year he pulled a 7lb out of there in winter. We're heading out there Sat. with my sons Cub Scout pack. My friend tells me this is the place that has never let him down.
  4. Removed the 4 ribs and I'm going to put down 1 piece of 1/2 inch sealed plywood directly to the bottom of the boat that can be remove as needed. With the plywood resting on the bottom of the boat and not on the ribs do you think I could get away with 1/4in plywood? I don't think I have to worry about the plywood flexing like it would if it was resting on the ribs. Using a 30lb trolling motor and only fishing small lakes. I don't think I have to worry about getting on plane.
  5. It holds water but there is a 3in rip in the front that is epoxied and does not leak but the epoxy is starting to crumble so I'm going to clean and patch that spot.
  6. No, They didn't give much support. Looks like they broke from someone standing in the boat on land. I was planning on adding a drop in floor and since the holes are there for the ribs I was going to put the conduit in and put the floor on top. securing the conduit to where the rib were would help keep the floor from sliding around. Or that was at least my thoughts. Could I get away with pulling out the ribs and putting one long piece of sealed and coated plywood attached directly to the floor of the boat? Leave some space open at the transom for draining and make it removeable if I need to let it dry out. Would the floor alone be all the support I would need?
  7. I picked up an old 10ft jon boat for cheap. Two of the ribs need to be replaced. Is there any reason replacing the ribs with metal or even PVC conduit would not work. I know I could buy some aluminum sheet, cut and bent to shape but I would rather just cut the conduit and use it. Again any reason it would not work. Thanks.
  8. Nice fish!! We should try to get out soon.
  9. Yep, went out with a buddy in his canoe. The 6lb was on a stanley ribbit frog, the rest were the ribbit or a zoom fluke.
  10. Had my best day fishing ever on Friday. Caught 10 bass only one was under 3 lbs!! The first fish of the day is my PB at an even 6lbs I still have a smile on my face. Not bad for this being my first year really getting into bass fishing. First pic is the 6Lb. The others are some others I got.
  11. Northwood lake has some nice small mouths, you just have to watch for large rocks at the launch. A buddy bent his prop up the last time I was there.
  12. I'm headed to Ocala for a few days in Sept. Me and a buddy would love to get in some bass fishing. Could anyone recommend a good guide that does afternoons or would anyone want to take a couple of yankees out for some fishing. And no we are not NY Yankee fans. My buddy likes the Red Soxs and I'm a transplant from NC so I a racing fan. Looks like we'll be there Sept 7,8,9th and we'll be in Orlando for the 10th and 11th. We may be able to fish around Orlando in the morning of the 11th befor we fly back to NH.
  13. Change of plans here. Looks like I won't be able to make this one. Have fun and catch some big ones.
  14. Nice fish! Sounds like an adventurous outing. What lake were you fishing?
  15. I found this video on youtube and posted it on the General Bass Fishing Forum under Bass Fishing Sweeping Method (Jigger Poling) http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1280164800 Has anyone tryed it or seen someong fishing this way around here. I'm thinking I'll give it a try. Anyone watching would think I'm out of my mind .
  16. I found this on YouTube and have to ask if anyone was tryed it? Take a look at the video.
  17. Great job Mark!Don't you love that topwater strike? The top water is great. Most of the misses where from me jumping when the bass broke the surface of the water. 4 of the misses where within 4 feet of the boat. They where hitting hard.
  18. I got my inflatable out for the first time today. Hit Turee pond and pulled in 3 bass and missed what must have been about 7 more on a Stanley Ribbit. It was a good day for me. I've only caught 4 other Bass this year. The largest today was about 2.5.
  19. I was at Stumpfield Marsh fishing from the shore when the storm hit. I drove down to the boat launch and there where 2 guys coming in from the lake in the down pour with all the wind and lighting all around them. You weren't at Stumpfield Marsh were you?
  20. Had a great time meeting everyone. Shane, I enjoyed fishing with you. Thanks, we'll have to get out sometime.
  21. Is this the boat launch off Forst Road close to the Hancock Greenfield bridge?
  22. Mines good too. I will need a seat.
  23. Shane, we might have to talk about that spot sometime. I'm in pembroke too and I'm going to get a inflatable boat today and maybe a trolling motor. I wish I could head out today but the wife has to work. I'll be trying to get out in the AM tomorrow hopefully.
