  1. Yeh with the water level so low I wasn't having any luck with bass in the creek. I switched things up and pulled out my fly rod the other week and caught a ton of bluegill for fun.
  2. Not sure the brand of the lure since it was old, but it was bright green. I'll have to try a dark green one. Have you had luck with other types of lures there? Have you tried wading further down the river or even up into the creek? I have seen a few people out in the creek fishing, not sure how much luck they had though.
  3. Well, this topic has gone off in an odd direction, but I thought I would post some feedback on the Kipheart Bridge Park site. After driving around a bit, I did find it, its easy to miss as it looks like a driveway in a neighborhood. I walked the 1.5 miles down the path along goose creek and made me way out to the Potomac. Caught a small bass on the second cast with a spinner, but then didn't have any more luck until I decided to try out a crank bait, at around 7pm. Second cast of the crank bait and I landed a 2 pound large mouth. I went on to catch 3 other smaller bass and lost a bigger one close to shore. All in all I was thrilled, as the the 2 pounder was the biggest bass I have ever caught. ;D Pikesnogle you are my new hero! Thanks for the advise!
  4. The wife and kids are off to the beach for a month! That means its fishing time for me! I live in Reston, VA and get off work around 3pm. I am looking for places that I can go afterwork and get in some good fishing. I have tried Lake Fairfax, but the algae is killing me. Anyone have any recommendations on where to try? I do not have a boat yet, but may be getting a canoe shortly.
