  2. welcome to BR
  3. surprised no one's said KVD yet. Roland Martin and Edwin Evers would be good too.
  4. Heading out to Grove Pond tonight if anyone wants to stop by.
  5. any lures with trebles are good for cranking rods
  6. Sam, how is the pond behind Martin's?
  7. racer894 and pspbass- I stopped by Grove Pond last night and the signs out there only say "Do Not Feed The Geese". They don't have "No Fishing" on them. Sam- Thanks for all the info. I can't really go out to those ponds now, but I will definitely try them sometime.
  8. the fish on the first cast is especially true for me.
  9. Welcome. Lots of great info on bassresource and lots of good fishing here in VA
  10. hope he listens to Betty White and stays in Cleveland.
  11. Sam- I was saying that the 'no fishing' signs don't make sense, not the West End fishing. I already have the VDGIF booklet and have hit some of the spots. I'll have to try some of the ones you mention. Where is Twin Hickory? Thanks.
  12. > That doesn't make any sense, cause they actually stock that pond.
  13. Do you mean no fishing for the gazebo area or the whole pond?
  14. Nice, I was there from 7 till it started getting dark, but didnt see you. that's weird..i was there from 6-7:30 last night, but i didn't catch a thing on the bridge.
  15. haha..i was way wrong about that pond...some guy told me one time there wasn't much in there..i'll have to head there soon.
  16. Nice pics! I had no idea the cats could be that big! I'm actually going there tonight. The pond in the Grove has good #'s of crappie and bluegill, but i don't think it has many good bass.
  17. You can either cast from the straight bank to the dock area, or cast on the dock out towards the bank. Small grubs work great in that spot. Most of the good bass ive caught are about 14-16 inches. One time though, I caught a bigger one accidentally. i was fly-fishing from the dock and put my rod down. The line went through the cracks and a fish grabbed the fly. It was definitely larger than the other ones, but i had to cut the line because i couldn't get to it. it was probably the one big fish that doesn't get caught often.
  18. I go to this pond all the time. Usually small beetle-spins,grubs, topwaters or worms work well. most of my bass come from near the bank by the 1st dock(looking from Woolridge Rd) . don't think ive caught anything by the bridge. What lures do you use there?
