Favorite Jig Trailers
I'm a big fan of the Netbait Paca Chunks and also the Rage Tail Craws. Netbaits are cheap but you only get 5 in the package and the craws detach pretty easily.

Zoom Trick Worm
I've always had the best luck with a 3/0 and no weight...throw it out there and give it a little twitch and they go crazy for it, big or small!

Better Check Your Dick's
Went there on Friday night....spent $36 on tackle that would have cost me $103. Lot's of good stuff too. Rapala Husky Jerks for $1.79, Red Eye Shads for 1.49, and Strike King Craws for 1.29. I couldn't believe my eyes and could hardly contain myself...

Your Best Lure So Far This Year....
Hey guys, just wondering what everyone's most productive lure has been so far this year. Wondering what kind of contrasts or similarities we will see. For me, I've been catching the majority of my fish on a Zoom Brush Hog. A lot of my buddies have had much success on Strike Kings beaver style plastic. How bout you?

Casting Distance
Dave was right, multiply by 3 to get feet from yards. 5 yards = 15 feet

St. Louis Area Fishermen
I fish Spanish Lake quite regularly over the summer time. Ive pulled out some decent fish out of there. I've also tried Bee Tree off Telegraph a few times with no luck. I never knew about Queeny having a pond there. I'll have to try it sometime.

Firsts of 2011
He didn't catch these If I understand correctly, his friend caught these 10 min. after he left. Correct. Me and my other friend had left to go play hockey. The one kid that stayed after we left sent us these pictures right after we left. The were released, by the way (we always practice CPR).

Firsts of 2011
Me and a couple of friends decided to hit a small pond today since central Missouri was seeing temps near 70 after we got almost 6 inches of snow on Monday. Me and one of my friends only had about 30 minutes to fish until we had to leave to play some hockey. I that 30 minutes, we all got skunked. Threw everything from a Rat-L-Trap to some trick worms to some shallow runners. Not more than 10 minutes later, we both received texts with these pictures.... (same fish just next to his tacklebox for comparison) And then this one... He was throwing a black jig with a black and blue craw. Temps are supposed to be in the 70s tomorrow so you know where we'll be 8-)

Fishing ponds just after ice out?
Here in central Missouri, I've caught my few bass on a chatterbait and a beetlespin (while trying to catch crappie). No luck on soft plastics yet.

Terminator Spinnerbaits
Anybody have anything positive/negative to say about the Terminator Spinnerbaits? BPS is running a sale tomorrow of buy 5 for $10 (depending on your store). I'll probably pick some up because I don't have a wide selection of spinnerbaits...

Upcoming club tournament

Still In The Mood
Man, awesome fish. I can only dream of the day when I catch some hawgs like that. Better start flippin' some RageTails...

Zoom Brush Hogs
I've always had the best luck with watermelon seed and green pumpkin.

Top 3 Lures
Solid choices... Without straying to far off topic what size and style of hook for the trick worm? Sometimes on a shakyhead, but most of the time on a 2/0 or 3/0 EWG hook.

Took a break
Well after spending the entire day in the engineering library working on projects, me and a couple buddies decided to hit a lake to find some winter bass. Temps have been mid 50s with lows in the 30s overnight, so it's still a little chilly in mid-Missouri. I've been mostly a soft plastic guy since i started (about a year ago) but i picked up a chatterbait over the winter and tested it out. I love that thing! Only caught 2 small guys (pushing a pound a piece) in the 40 minutes I was out there, but still was nice to be on the water. 8-)
