Wish I could call it mine...
He's gonna send me better pictures later from his camera, but from this cell phone pic it looks like you can fit a bowling ball in that fish's mouth

Wish I could call it mine...
Here's is a picture my buddy sent me this morning of a fish he caught at a golf course. He can only go on Mondays and they hadn't caught a fish yet til this one rammed his spinner bait. They didn't have a scale but I'm guessing between 10-12 lbs.

Keeping the Bugs Away
Went last night with the ThermaCell and it worked great. Sure we sprayed down with some Off bug spray too, but we sat the Thermacell on the row between us in the jon boat. The bugs flew around the night lights on the boat but didn't bother us much at all. We also had the floating light in the water which pulled some bugs away as well. Thanks guys.

Keeping the Bugs Away
So tomorrow night me and my old man are going out to do some night fishing. We'll mainly be focusing on catfish and crappie. My question is what's the best way to keep the bugs away? Of course we'll have bug spray, but we have a lantern that we take on the boat that attracts the bugs like crazy. Any ideas of ways to keep the light but lose the bugs.

Bought some Rage Tail Craws and a Zara Puppy Today
And not really sure how to fish them quite yet. I've read on here about both of these products and am curious how to use them. For the craw's I got the watermelon red, which looked fairly appealing but I'm not sure exactly how to use them. I'm guessing you fish them across the bottom, but do you just bounce them along, try to drag them, or what? Also I've read about walking the dog with a Zara Spook, but have never tried it. I got a smaller Zara Puppy to start with and it looks like a good bait as it is a silver/black with nice detail. Any help with either is appreciated fellas.

New guy could use some help with lure choice....
Throw some topwater lures around the lilypads for sure. And a cloudy day means you got a better chance for bites since the fish may not be as deep.

Thanks guys. Another question though, what kind of plywood to put in? Some pieces of our old plywood are rotted.

Boat Carpet
So me and my old man are fixing a jon boat up that we've had sitting around for a while. We plan on painting it and installing some swivel mounts on the front and back row. Anyways we have some plywood boards that were in the floor board but they have some nasty green carpet on them and I was wondering where I could get some gray carpet to put on instead. Also, give me the cheapest route if possible cause I know carpet can be expensive. Thanks guys.

What type of plastic worms do you use?
Yeah I've been using the black and white Zoom trick worms a lot so far this year. Some days they work, but lately I haven't had any luck with them. I mean I got a ton of different worms just seeing if I could find a pattern of what was working this time of year.

What type of plastic worms do you use?
Just curious to see what kind of worms you use and what you have found to be effective. Brand, color, size, and weight you use would be helpful. Thanks in advance fellas.

Hello from Upstate, SC
I'm a college student who loves to fish whenever I can. This past year I've been around the water a lot more and am just loving it. Me and my old man are currently fixing up an old john boat and am hoping to do it up right. Glad to be on here cause this looks like a great forum for a young fisherman to learn.

Good Spots in Upstate, SC
What's some good places besides Lake Hartwell near the Upstate, in particular Greenville. I've fished out nearly all the ponds I can fish and looking for some better spots. Would love to get on some largemouths. Any help is appreciated.

Where were you fishing with the trick worms? Had to be pretty shallow.
