  1. Fished the Nashua River last night with a buddy, man, what a waste of time and effort even putting the boat in the water. The place is a toilet, so much mil foil and coontails, makes it hard to fish. Came up with 2 dink buckets in about 3hrs. Anywho, trying Dunklee Pond today in Hollis. Anyone fished here before? Is this place a toilet as well?
  2. As I told badcrawdad, I am VERY interested in coming, but me and the wife are moving around that time and I'm not sure if I'll be able to come. If I can, I will be more than likely bringing my brother in law and we'll fish out of my boat. But I'll keep you all posted.
  3. Welcome! 8-) As other's have stated, Dicks Sporting Goods, Sports Authority and even sometimes Wal-Mart will get you some good mid-ranged spinning combos. A 6', Medium Action rod will work perfectly for an all around rod! I wish you the best of luck with the Buckets!
  4. I agree with Shane, at least something weighted and a little deeper water. As far as I know, that's a relatively shallow body of water. 40-ish feet at it's max. I'm guessing there is also shad, so a white or chartreuse spinner bait with double Colorado or Willow bladed will also work well earlier and later in the day. I wish you the best of luck!
  5. jaystraw, thanks! I was at East Pond in Oakland, ME. Way up there! My wife is from that area and whenever we go up there, I get to fish! East Pond is part of the Belgrade Lakes Chain. So many very large lakes within a small space. Excellent fishing though!
  6. Alright I'm back from Maine. What a trip! Me and my brother in law fished for 16.5hrs yesterday, went to the lake when it was dark and left when it was dark. I wish everyday could be like that! The fishing was simply amazing. Between the two of us, we reeled in roughly 100 fish, only one of which wasn't a bass of some sort, happened to be a monster white perch. The new boat worked perfectly! I bought a 700cca from Wal-Mart and it lasted all day, with multiple trips from one end of the lake to the other. I was really shocked, even though my trolling motor is only 36lbs thrust. We caught fish from 1lbs up to 6lbs, it was just incredible. Here are some pics. 8-)
  7. That was on Craigslist. I talked to guy down to a price I couldn't pass up. Came with a relatively new 36lbs thrust trolling motor, just got a brand new deep cycle marine battery and I'm ready to roll! Registering tomorrow morning and heading north! I will definitely post pictures.
  8. Shane, how new is the motor? What's the condition?
  9. Nice. Like you said, get's you to where they are! That's what matters. I went out today and got myself a little treat! Bringing this up to Maine tomorrow and will be slaying the Buckets/Bronzies! I will post some pictures when I get back!
  10. badcrawdad, nice bucket man! Congrats! What do you have for a boat? Thanks all for the welcomes! I'm going up to Maine this weekend with the wife, she is shopping, I'll be fishing! I'll let you know how it goes!
  11. I've fished here quite a bit and I agree with the above poster. Just Smallies and the occasional Bucket. Nothing too big, but still a lot of fun. Another pretty good spot that not too many people fish is behind Stellos stadium, there is a trail that goes below the dam and you can fish all the way to the foot bridge that is behind Hannaford. I usually walk in the water. Mostly smaller Smallies, but I've caught a few 2lbr's. Good time.
  12. Hello all! I'm new here and just thought I'd say hi! I live in Milford and have been fishing NH waters for many years. I'm always looking for new spots and to read others stories about certain bodies of water. I'm always looking for people to fish with! I'm sure I'll be around for awhile!
