Looking for a weekday Fishing Partner - Memphis Area
I'm game. Can't go this week though. Will be heading down South to Bayou Rigolettes to fish for Reds. Looking foward to that. There is a chance I might be able to go next Tuesday.

Beech Lake - Lexington, TN
MFBAB, have you ever fished browns cr.? Never been there myself. It is one of the TWRA lakes I almost went to this winter but never did go. Would you or anyone else by chance know anything about the Williamsport Lakes. TWRA's write up on them makes em sound as if their worth the drive.

Beech Lake - Lexington, TN
never been to brown cr but I read an article three years ago about a guy catching bass over 10lbs on rattle trap. There was a picture and it was nice fish

Beech Lake - Lexington, TN
Pin oak is usually clean not alot of grass and shallow slopes. Beech has some grassy areas. The last time I went the water clarity was much clearer than pin oaks. Both certainly hold big fish.

Does anyone actually LIKE, or dare I say LOVE winter fishing???
I love winter fishing. One reason aside from catching alot of fish the mosquitos are down and out. They are terrible here in the mid-south. Are they as bad up North as what I have heard?

Jon Boat needs ribs replaced
1/2" or 1/4" would be OK depending on how you use the boat. I did see the transom in pictures I didn't think you would be using anything bigger than a trolling motor, planing out is no concern. Also, the ribs stopped at the sides without turning up supporting only the bottom for flex. Use the 1/2" if you will be standing up at all.

Winterizing???
Good tips here. Glad to live in the south though. Mild winters, fresh gas, and fishing every week is how I winterize my boat. Just keeping the motor down is all I ever done.

New Ride
Nice choice.

Lake View Closed?
That makes sense cause I didn't think the ramp was that bad. The bait shop on the other hand is another story though, it could use a nice face lift.

Lake View Closed?
I heard they are making some ramp improvements while the water is low

Your fishing goals?
Make it off the water alive to fish another day

Jon Boat needs ribs replaced
Does it leak? I would take them out and not worry about trying to replace them with anything. Ten foot boats are light weight anyway just use it accordingly and you will be fine. Replace the rivets with small stainless screws in the holes along with a dab of marine silicone. Also avoid using any wood if possible except on the bench for mounting seat pedestal. I have used wood several times in my ten and twelve footers through the years and it adds more weight than you think. Every pound counts in a boat that small. I install boat carpet directly to the bottom of the boat to quieten it up, that's it. Make sure you use good quality spray adhesive though and avoid the cheap stuff. I have a friend who coated his with truck bed liner and it did not turn out to bad. Didn't add to much weight either. Prep is the key to doing that right though or you will have a mess.

Have you ever seen a bass do cartwheels across a pond
I have had a similar experience with a top water frog. It's neat to see something like that happen.

To Early to Prefish a Tournament?
fishfordollars, ohio, and sam have been given some pretty good advice here so I don't need to repeat whats already been said. However, one thing I will say, homework in advance generally pays off, just remember to always be disciplined in how you go about it and pay attention to the slightest of details that the other guys have mentioned. It will pay off!
