  1. where you wanna meet at? Highland? gimme a week or so and lemme see what I got going on and I will shoot you a pm on here and we can setup a time
  2. Ive got the big bass splash on Guntersville this weekend but after that we should get together one weekend when you are free and see what we can find on WPL...man I would love to get into a big school of crappie. What are most people catching them one, jigs or live bait?
  3. I fish West Point all the time. Its about 45 mins away for me. I usually put in at Highland or Horace King. How have you guys been doing there lately? I went last weekend and managed a few but they were all pretty small.
  4. thanks for the advice...I will post it in the other species forum...thanks again
  5. Like I stated in the title it isn't bass fishing but its still fishing. A couple of my college buddies and I are wanting to take a fishing trip down to Orange Beach, AL to do some bay fishing for redfish, flounder, and really just whatever we can catch. I know there are a lot of charters out there but just wondering if any of you guys have taken a bay fishing charter out of Orange Beach and if so then what was the name of the charter that you guys took and how did you like it. Any contact info would be appreciated as well and any connections would be awesome too! It will be four or 5 of us max. Thanks in advance guys!
  6. just got my order in yesterday...AWESOME looking jigs...will definately be purchasing some more very soon!
  7. a couple drops of lemon juice will stop the bleeding as well
  8. Not one that I painted myself, but one that was painted for me by BB Lures out of Kentucky...
  9. I saw that one...unfortunately it is too long by .25"...yeah I know, it sucks
  10. I am looking for a license plate/tag to put on the front of my truck. I am wanting a Stratos boat tag. I have looked all over the web and cannot find anywhere that makes them. I have also been looking for a decent looking Stratos sticker that I could put on a mirror tag to kinda make my own tag with no such luck either. The tag size is 11.75" wide and about 5" tall. Anyone know where I can find a Stratos sticker at that would fall within those specs? Thanks in advance.
  11. thanks alot man...that is what I was wanting to hear. I know i got a few buddies that pull their boats with ford explorers with 4.0 v6 engines. One of them has a 21 ft triton and the other has a 18.5 ft skeeter. I thought that this one might pull my little small one.
  12. nah I wont be pulling thru any hills...I have about a 45 min pull to West Point lake from my house...no hills, just flat land. I want to buy a smaller vehicle for my everyday commute and I will buy a bigger v8 truck in about a year or so...just thought I could kill 2 birds with one stone with this particular truck...
  13. I just recently sold my 2006 Dodge 3500 dually...just couldnt deal with those huge payments anymore. Now I am stuck without a truck which means no way to get the boat to the water. I want to find something cheap on gas that will also tow my boat. I have a 1997 Stratos 268 boat. I think its a 16 ft boat. I have found a truck that I can pick up for a pretty good deal and will also get some decent fuel mileage for everyday commuting. The truck is a 2000 GMC Sierra with a 4.3L v6. It is a regular cab, short bed, automatic. It is also 2wd. I dont know if it has a tow package and I also dont know what it is rated to tow. What do you guys think? I think it should tow it fine...at least for about 1.5 years, then I am going to break down and buy a Tundra with a 5.7l. Thanks in advance.
  14. Yeah I know...Dang diesels are too expensive man. Im just ready to have something that isnt a hassle to drive or to pull into a parking spot!
  15. What would it cost to upgrade the bearings and drag on the Citica? You can pm me the info if you like.
  16. Where can you buy parts to upgrade your Citica reel? (handles, bearings, etc)Thanks in advance guys.
  17. Well I finally bit the bullet this weekend and ordered a Smoke PT100 to pair with my Duckett rod...Hard to pass up the deal that Gander Mountain had going on. The reel shipped to my door for $139. Should bring this combo in at a whopping 9.9 ounces...lol. THEN i got on ebay last night and saw a sweet deal on a REVO STX...bid $100 and woke up this morning to see that I won that also...didnt really plan on winning it but guess its mine now. Hard to pass up that kinda deal anyways, especially with a 30 day money back guarantee.
  18. wow that is ALOT lower than what I was wanting to hear...lol. Might need to rethink my strategy a lil bit now.
  19. thanks for the info guys...ive got a tournament this weekend so i will probably stick to what i know BUT the next time out on the water Im definately gonna hafta give this a shot!
  20. I have had ALOT of people tell me to just get a tacoma. I plan on getting a bigger boat one day but dont see myself ever getting one over 19.5 ft. I just like bigger trucks though.
  21. sorry about posting in the wrong section...
  22. I figured that since this was in regards to towing my boat that it would fit in here...I have a 2006 dodge 3500 dually that I have been towing my 16ft stratos with (yeah its overkill). I have it up for sale and I am going to be in the market for another truck. I have been looking at 2007-2009 Toyota Tundra pickups. I would want the one with the 5.7l engine. I have heard many stories about the fuel mileage on these trucks. Some people say they get 14 mpg and some say that they get 19 mpg. Would like to get some input from some actual Tundra owners...If you guys dont mind post up the fuel mileage that ur truck gets (city/hwy) and the specs on your truck like year, 2wd/4wd, gear ratio, towing package, etc. Thanks alot guys.
  23. I have never fished the drop shot before. I am thinking that I want to give it a try but I dont know what size/shape weight I need and I also dont know what hooks I need. I see that Gamakatsu sells a drop shot specific hook but I dont know what size to get. probably only going to use this method for wacky rigging a senko. Thanks for all input.
  24. oh dont get me wrong...i am thankful for even having a job, but everyone has to want to better themselves. This job is great for now but I would like the opportunity to know that when I am 50 years old that I will be working for a larger salary and alot better benefits. Im keeping my fingers crossed and I should know more next week.
  25. Well I guess I dont know what to do then...lol. I am good at what I do, but I am just burnt out on working on diesels though. Maybe its because of the crappy place that I work for now, who knows. I am with you on the knee problems...I just had knee surgery last Thursday on my left knee for a torn meniscus. I am kinda at a crossroads in my life. Diesel mechanics is all that I have really ever done. I dont know what else there is out there that I would be good at and possibly make more money. You just dont see many diesel mechanics making killer money. I just want to better myself and try to make a better life for my family. Going to school fulltime is out of the question so I just have to go with what I can do while working a fulltime job.
