  1. Yeah, sorry so late responding...been busy as hell. Yes, I am in North MS It was caught on Bull Mountain Creek located on Glover Wilkins on the Tenn-Tom (Located at Smithville) Pm me if you want more details.
  2. I hate cruelty whatever the circumstances. I feel for the animal being abused and have pity and anger for the human. However, without animal testing, we would have missed out on a lot of science that benefitted humans as well as animals. The predator /prey relationship is a fact of nature. Man is just an apex predator. The best thing that an animal can do to ensure its survival, is to become beneficial to humans. Whether its domestication, being game, etc. We understand the ecosystem a lot more now and learning more every day. I'm sure most of the members of this board practice C/R. No doubt some will die anyway. But, one of the local lakes is encouraging anglers to take home more of the smaller fish, because the numbers of them are too high. I trust most game biologists, they care as much as I do, maybe more. Plus they are a lot more educated in these matters. PETA is a typical feel good, p/c, style over substance, wacko organization. Who cares if anything is accomplished as long as somebody's ego is stroked. Well, gotta go organize my tackle box. I knocked it over with the drawers and lid open last Sat when I was fighting a largemouth. The weekend's coming up, you know.
  3. Wow. I was beginning to think I was all alone. I've mostly fished in and around Bull Mountain. Not much luck with worms, etc. Most luck has come on top water (Devil Horse, poppers, spook). I know what you mean about the grass. Thanks for the input.
  4. You tried dynamite? JK. The only thing working in North MS is top water late in the day. I've been fishing everything from around 300 to 2700 acres and that's all that works since Labor Day.
  5. You learn something new every day. Never seen one before. I always thought they were cold water fish.
  6. My buddy caught what appears to be a pickerel this afternoon. Unfortunately, when I lifted it out of the water, we got like 15 seconds and it wiggled off the hook and hit the water (Note to self: ALWAYS hold them over the boat). Didn't get a pic. As we were loading the boat, I got to talking to another guy. He is local and said that are pickerel there. New one me. Now I have to catch one for myself. :
  7. Man! Got a 12-14 hour day ahead of me and I just want to go fishing. Maybe, just maybe, I can get off at lunch tomorrow and get a couple of hours in Friday afternoon. Got to cut firewood for my Mom and Dad on Sat morning, might get a few hours in on Sat afternoon. Sunday's out, got to work Sun morning, its supposed to rain anyway. Doesn't the world know that I have an addiction to feed? :'(
  8. Mainly Fulton to Amory. Need some tips and tricks and maybe a day of coaching.
  9. Glad I found this place. I've been fishing my whole life, but mainly cat and bream/crappie. Most bass were accidental, till this summer. I haven't fished seriously in years. I caught a great deal on an aluminum semi v and decided to start largemouth fishing. I live in North MS and mainly fish public lakes and the Tenn-Tom. I've got a bazillion question that I'll be asking soon. Gotta be ready for spring. The bite is kinda slow right now, maybe you guys got some tips....
