  1. I am crossing over from surf to fishing smallmout on the Potomac. I have no clue what I am doing but I am earger to get into it. I am working a little backwards. I bought a Shimano Citica 200 and now I need to rod to compliment it. I am not sure what I will be throwing, still clueless, but it will be 100% lures. Could you please suggest a good first rod. I heard to the mojo m 7' might be a good choice, but is there other slightly less expensive other choices. Any help appreciated.

  3. Hi, This is great sight that I have been lurking around and getting a ton of good information from. I thought it was high time I joined. I am a surf fisherman at heart. Tons of surf rods and equipment for chasing stripers up and down the coast. But that's the problem, I have to chase them pretty far. Right next to me is a great river (Potomac) for small and large mouth that I never fish in. I also pass tons of great rivers and lakes on the Eastern shore, Conn., Jersey and Mass on my way to stripers and drum. I am looking to become a bass fisherman. I have picked up a nice Shimano Citica and looking to get my first bass rod to match it. I am excited to fill a new tackle box to the gills with a bunch of crazy lures to rival my bear's cave of a couple hundred surf plugs hanging from the ceiling. I got a kayak that is itching to be used in the spring for some smallies. I know nothing about bass fishing, but it looks like I came to the right place to learn and I just can't wait! Thanks Summersoff
