I saw, a while back, someone looking for a way to stablize a jon boat. I have a 10' boat that I swamped last memorial day. My new outrigger is made from 2 - 5 gallon water cooler bottles. I drilled 1 1/4" hole in the bottom of each. 1 1/4 PVC pipe with T between the bottles. A pipe cap at each end and caulk around the fittings with silicone. Drill a hole in the "top side" to allow to vent and drain. The boat is uner 12" of snow right now, so I haven't rigged the attachment Will probably use something like oar-lock brackets.
