  1. Awesome advice. I was looking at the magic minnow here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002QG0J2A Could I add that as a trailer for a spinnerbait like you said? I have some of the skitterwalks but the ones I have don't really match the mullet in the area. Will the color really affect them that much? I haven't seen any copper spoons but I'll check one of the local tackle shops when I get there. Awesome advice! Thanks so much everyone! I'll post pics if I'm able to pull anything Saturday. With all the advice, if I don't catch a bull red, it must be me that's doing something wrong! :
  2. What should I tip the gold spoons with?
  3. It's my girlfriends beachhouse
  4. I'll be fishing off the dock and taking a kayak out on the main channel.
  5. It's going to be marsh with inlets. Get's about 3-10 feet deep near the grass, and 11-15ft deep on high tide. Oyster beds all around.
  6. I know this place is for bass, but maybe some of you could give me some tips on Redfish/Speckled trout. I'm going down to myrtle beach next week and I'd like to give inshore fishing a try. I've never fished for these species but a buddy of mine told me they both love golden spoons rigged with squid or plastics. I've also heard Strike King Glass Minnow's can be deadly when rigged with a 1/4oz Jighead. I'll be using 10lb mono or flouro. I can go heavier or lighter, but I've pictures of my buddy pulling huge redfish out on this line. Any bait recommendations or tips for these guys? I won't be surf fishing, just fishing inshore. Thanks
  7. I'll get a map from the tacklshop in the morning. Thanks for the tips! . I'll also head towards contrary creek Any ideas on good live bait for Anna?
  8. Hey everyone! 3 buddies and I are renting a pontoon from Sturgeon Creek Marina tomorrow at Lake Anna and would love some advice or some hotspots. This is the first time we've launched from this Marina. We're going to be using lures, but what would be the best live bait to invest in from the tackle shop? I'm thinking the old fashioned Night Crawlers. We're going to be targeting Bass and Stripers but one of the guys wants to catch some Catfish. Any advice/tips are appreciated! ;D Thanks!
  9. Thanks guys! Any idea on a Bass club in Northern VA for people without boats?
  10. Okay awesome, I'll look into it! Thanks for the info, and glad to be aboard!

  12. Hey everyone! I stumbled onto this site while searching for new local areas to fish. Everyone seems nice and helpful! Born and raised in Falls Church, VA, I've been fishing since I was 4 years old, but only exclusively bass fishing since I was 12. I'm a college student working on a BS in Biology. I recently started a fishing review blog, but it hasn't gone very far. It's still fun to work on even if it helps get just one new person into fishing! I've been experimenting with new baits and tackle. I usually fish from the shore because all I own is a canoe and it's too heavy to go out on alone. I love teaching my friends how to fish, and learning from every angler I get the chance to meet while fishing. If you live near Northern VA and would like to go fishing sometime, send me a PM! I'll go just about anywhere around the area(within 80 miles). Like I said, I mainly shore fish, but I would love to go out on the Potomac sometime and spend a day out on a boat just fishing.
