  6. hello guys i stumbled upon this bait while doing a little research on bed bugs for a company i work for, its made by garneau baits and its called the bed bug, has anyone tried it? looks pretty unique to me a little pricy but was looking to give it a try and wanted to hear feedback before, well heres the link http://www.garneaubaits.com/bed-bug.html
  7. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Bionic-Blade-XPS-Spinning-Rods/product/10210586/-1749670?cmCat=CROSSSELL_THUMBNAIL 6 foot spinning medium heavy fast under 65
  8. i got my rod today and all i can say is wow! this thing is nice, it looks like it was built to order its so nice. i cant wait til i get a chance to give it some nice usage, but i messed with it a bit to test sensitivity and i cant say enough how impressed i am about this rod. even better *** is the best, i ordered my rod friday at 1:30 pm i recieved my rod today monday. hows that for free shipping... great company! this will be used for jigs and plastics, should i use braid? i heard braid increases sensitivity... and is it hard on guides?
  9. oil on the drag washers? tore my pro qualifier apart and re oiled and lubed it after a good cleaning, somehow got oil on the drag washer and didnt realize til after i casted a deep crank bait and it wasnt reeling in without slipping. that was my problem
  10. i fish on alot of sandy beaches in the wind. always windy here, and i dont usually have an issue with sand inside the gears side of the reel, the only thing ive noticed gets sandy/dirty is the paw/worm gear for the level wind on my baitcasters. those are the only reals ive used and torn down...
  11. thanks! i will i cant wait til it gets here tuesday
  12. well i finally decided on a nice casting rod, i had a toss up between kistler mag or helium, powell endurance, and dobyns savvy, well i chose the dobyns savvy due to it being so popular and rave reviews on it, it just seemed like a better choice. i was unable to handle any of the rods prior to purchase but i hope i made the right choice, i ordered the 704 casting rod heavy fast for jigs and texas rigs and senko's. im excited to get it, this is my first nice rod, all my others were 50 - 60 dollar pflueger president casting rods, which i still use and love but not sensitive enough for bottom contact baits for me.
  13. thats a good price, sounds like there are some solid fans for kistler
  14. now the answers come out, its a hard choice between the new powell endurance series and the kistler mags with micro's or the helium lta's for me. I wish i could hold them in my hand first, but my town is so small the only tackle shop i have isnt large in anyway and doesnt carry anything like that. thank you all for the responses, im getting closer to making my purchases on some nice rods..
  15. those kistler heliums look like they are very nice rods, as do the powells ive heard great things about both rods the only thing i didnt hear that was good was the warranty on kistler products, im gonna keep an eye out for those specials for sure. decisions are tough i wish i could just buy both and see what i like but i dont have the kind of money to do that haha thanks again for the replies
  16. i found some 2011 helium models for 150 plus 18 shipping. right at the same price of powell endurance rod. now which is better? thank you for the responses!
  17. The dobyns are nice but I disnt see one light enough for cranks like under half ounce ones, the powel endurance was another one I was going to ask about
  18. I'm looking at getting a few kistler mag ts casting rods, for cranks and jigs and senkos, how are these rods? Are they worth the money? How sensitive are they, thank you!
  19. Right now the ones that really caught my eye were the abu garcia veritas, bass pro carbonlite, lamiglass excel, croix mojo bass, I'm not looking for the lightest rod, I'm looking for the most sensitive and durable rod. Which ever one is the better one I'm probably going to pick the same model up for a jig n worm set up to replace my lower quality one.
  20. Hey I got your pm that's something I will consider for sure, any other suggestions for rods would be great , thank you!
  21. Trigger rod that is sorry forgot to mention
  22. hey guys, im in the market for a nice rod that im going to use for shallow to medium cranks such as bandits and bombers, nothing over 1/2 oz. My budget is 150 dollars for rod, and i highly prefer split handle and graphite. Ive been looking around at the ones in the 100 - 150 range and there are some highly rated rods and cant make my mind up. So im turning it to the guys who know more than i do to give options! thank you very much!
  23. watermelon red flake, green pumpkin and junebug, junebug has been my best producer
  24. cruise missile - seek and destroy
