went to high rock today 9 hrs hard fishing caught only one keeper, any one have any advise for a beginner

any one have any suggestions for fishing this lake? lures, locations, colors, what type natural food do bass find on this lake? i am new to bass fishing any help would be greatly appreciated. plan to go in a couple of weeks from now around April 2nd & 3rd

just want to say that i have be looking over some of these topics and they are great. i am completely new to bass fishing and am hoping to learn, purchase a small used boat and fishing some of the lakes around the Piedmont area of NC. Thanks
