I have a 24v evinrude trolling motor, I had been have issues with a short in the plug. While trolling full power saturday the motor just stopped. Tried wiggling the plug but it didn't help this time. I got home, took the plug apart and the positive wire was loose (pretty much disconnected). I fixed that problem but the motor still wouldn't work. Used a test light with the light grounded to the main plug ground and had power running into and out of the pedal. Grounded the light to the head of the trolling motor and no power at all coming to the trolling motor head, on the same wire that had power coming out of the pedal. Do I have a ground issue? Please help I love this trolling motor when it is running but getting tired of the electrical issues. Thank you.
