Hey PondBoss, Thanks for the message.
I did fish Lake Hefner 3-4 times this spring but the lake was so far down that I had a hard time even launching the boat. It seemed like everywhere I fished it was about 2 feet of water. Had to paddle my way out of the mud over by the lighthouse & any coves I tried. I realize out in the middle of the lake is deep, but I'm not sure how to catch fish setting out there in the middle.
Lake Overholser boat ramp was completely closed due to low water, I did catch 2 crappie at Lake Guthrie last month & also tried Liberty Lake with no luck. I used to slaughter the crappie up in Kansas City when I lived there, We have caught over 100 crappie with a couple buddies fishing 1 day at lake laffayette & land-of-lakes. But this Oklahoma fishing is starting to depress me / LOL - I can't seem to catch anything here, anywhere I go ??? - I have been out 12-15 times, caught 2-4 fish....
Now that its a scorching 95-100 degrees, I'm hanging out in the air conditioning. I live close to the OKC/Fairgrounds & do still run out to the fishing docks early in the morning around daybreak. Caught 2 stripers last week.
Well anyway, I'm gonna have to wait for the temperature to break before I go back on the lake, I can take 80's but not high90's-100. I have been night fishing a bunch, but not in Oklahoma yet. Feel free to reply back & give me some thoughts
