  1. Where in Parkland have you tried? My 7Yo pulled a 7LBer out of one of the canals on Mecca Blvd. Saturday at sundown.
  2. For me its the swim senko. Usually watermellon or pumpkin depending on how dirty the water is. Whether its in the canal behind my house or out at Lox they have been the go to for me and my 6 Y.O son.
  3. Gar, To my Brother in Blue enjoy what you have earned!!!!! 8 more for me and Im already counting the days....Enjoy the bigO in your Big O!!! Louie!

  6. There is a updated story in the Sun Sentinel today asking for help to try to indentify who might have been driving the boat. They were not able to locate anyone as of today. They found food and fishing poles and the key in the on position. I would have to assume the boat did not have its hull number on it.
  7. Dam Gar, some people live the good life!

  9. The one he is talking about is in the city of Oakland Park, Both Cities have parks with that name.......two different bodies of water though
  10. Ar you fishing out of Lox Rd or Lee Rd or Southern Blvd? I talked to at least 5 boaters today who all said the same thing.......NOTHING! Maybe you know something the rest of us dont????? lol
  11. I went out there yesterday(Lox Rd) and it was nice to be able to get on the flats with no isses, only caught 3 and lost a bunch more, nothing of size to talk about. Still learning as I go. Anytime someone wants to get out there give me a shout, have a boat, just aint got no experience....lol Louie
  12. Thanks again for all the info...for now I just stick to the south end of Lox, Ill eventually get up there to the other locations, still learning as I go.Like I said I will not attempt to get on the flats until I know it is safe. I dont have a 3.8 reel so I feel a trip to Bass Pro is in the cards today. lol Ill give it a go Friday and let you guys know the outcome. thanks again Louie
  13. maybe I should go out there on a spy mission then!!!!!..............haha
  14. When I go out there I only fish in the main canals. Usually go after work around 6 or so and we usually catch about 6-10 before sundown. I am going to try friday at sun up. I wont go in the flats yet. I know the water there is dangerous right now and I have no desire to get out and push. Thanks for the info on the other spots.
  15. Ill be the one in the green and white BSO car.....Ill be easy to spot....haha
  16. No dont go out there...It is for no trespassing, your on a Federal Preserve and you dont want any issues with US Fish and Wildlife. They will make your life miserable.
  17. Crankbaits and lipless it is for me..Il give it a shot and the spillways friday at sun up....thanks
  18. That barrier is there until October 2012, Nothing we can do about it. Try taking the canal west from the boat ramp, that is open now and it runs a couple of miles west until the flats, I could not get on the flats as of last week, water still too low. Ill be out there Sunday, But ill be in my patrol car unfotunately.
  19. I have had good luck using swim senkos in the past couple of months up till last week also, Got shut out too.....Since they moved the weed barrier in the east/west canal I took it all the way to the end, fished the spillways and nothing last week either. Going to give it a try early friday morning again. Sorry I cant be of much help.
  20. Was this from the south or north side?? I went out the south yesterday morning. Took the canall west to the flats..water was showing 1.4Ft on the garmin entering the flats so only wen tin maybe 50 feet and decided I did not want to end up pusing it so went back to the main canal. It was brutally hot with No breeze at all. Was pretty dead. I guess I got to stop fishing with plastics and get some cranks too.. NIce Report!!!!!!
  21. Out in the preserve I have had good luck with Swim Senkos. Watermelon with black flake in the day and blacks at night. Also some friends have had good luck with 12" black worms before sundown.
  22. All of the arrows in your first set of pics are in the flats you will be fine there. Just be carefull as they are very shallow too. Where I could get to three weeks ago i can no longer get too now.
  23. Forget about the second picture....the water there is less than a foot, the airboats use that ramp. You should have no issues using any any one of the 4 ramps located at the main launch. You cant really go west in the main canal as it is blocked off. YOU can head east and fish in the main canal and also like CS stated you sould be able to float across the flats. I did it three weeks ago with my boat but was constantly having to clear the troling motor of weeds. It was worse last week and I could not get ont the flats. Bring a BIG knife to cut the prop free if youy decide to try it.
  24. Good Luck Brother!!!!
  25. I am a BSO Deputy and I patrol the boat ramp at the end of Lox Rd along with US fish and widlife and FWC officers. I have neved had any issues up there in the 7 years I have been assigned up that way...
