I'm not sure if it's a police range... I heard shooting before around there but these got to be high powered rifles..

Beware Billo Road Wny
The only little bass lake I know of.where I can launch my inflatable raft just turned out to be dangerous I was in the middle of the lake and started to hear gun shots of.high powered rifles, next thing you know a bullet hit the water 10 feet away from me, plus I had my 7 yr old son with me. I heard there is a shooting range for the cops near there but I don't understand.... thank god we didn't get hit...now I need to look elsewhere for something close with bass and where I can launch, never going to billo again...

Dewitt Ponds Batavia Ny?
I went there yesterday for about 3 hours, I didn't get a single bite. The water looks deep and promising, i'm surprised I got nothing. Is this place over fished or would boat fishing be ideal?

Just Spent 3 Hrs At A Pond I Found But..
Only 2 bass! They were also tiny! I've been searching for new waters all week and found a new small pond (200 yards or so), I see tons of TINY lmb around the shore. Should I try it again or move on? Not sure if any big boys are in there. I used all sorts of spinners, flukes, and top water poppers. Saw no fish jump.

Sand Quarry Bass
Update: UGHH still no bass at the new quarry I found!! I'm not giving up though. The weather has been 60-65 degrees this week so I decided to give it a shot again today. It's been pretty windy so I don't know if thats affecting the fishing, but, I did not see one bass jump as of yet there. I don't see any live minnows swimming around. The only thing I caught there so far was perch. Should I keep on throwing out the tacke box or give up there?? I just can't believe there is only perch in this big quarry. Is it possible there can only be perch and that's it?? I'm not a rookie when it comes to bass fishing, but trying to figure out a new spot is different to me. This place is very close and nobody is ever there. Any tips??

Sand Quarry Bass
It's in Clarence NY. I just found the quarry by using google maps. I'm hoping there is bass in there, I'm not too sure on how deep the water is though, it's a pretty good quarry though. After not catching any bass on lures/jigs/spinners we just used worms and nailed perch. Is it possible that some quarries won't have bass?

Sand Quarry Bass
I recently discovered a sand quarry near my house and the water looks excellent.. I live in Western NY so we haven't had many warm days yet. It's been around 45-50 degrees but today was around 60 so I decided to check it out and see if I can pull in some bass. I threw out my tackle box, jigs, lures, top waters and caught nothing. We did pull in some huge perch with worms (couldn't believe the size) and the water is still pretty cold.. My question is: Is it possible that the water is still too cold for the bass to bite? Is there usually other species of fish in Quarries other than Perch?? I haven't seen anything jump, I was there for 3 hours. The water is pretty deep, can be over 20-30 feet deep further out. I fish quarries a lot but I just don't have much knowledge of them. Any comments will be helpful! Thanks
