  1. Fort those of you who aren't aware I just wanted to spread the word that the Priority Toyota Mini Series on Lake Chesdin will have a GUARANTEED $1,000 payout for fist place at each of the 10 tournaments this year. Entry fees are $60 per boat and to top it all off the winners of the Classic at the end of the year will get a free one year lease on a toyota truck. Tournaments start the first Thursday of May and are held ever other week. Going out of Whippernock Marina. Where else can you fish a 3 hour tournament (5:30pm to 8:30pm) with that kind of payout? Good luck!
  2. This show is one of the best kept secrets in the state. This is to benefit the OCHS anglers (Orange County High School fishing team) There will be lots of vendors and tons of fishing tackle (especially bass tackle) at some outrageously low prices. Here is the link to the OCHS Sportsman Expo that will be held this weekend: http://www.ochsangle...rtsmanExpo.aspx
  3. Because I own a business that requires me to powder paint all of my baits I can tell you a fluid bed is the way to go. If you plan to do this for years to come (even if only for personal use) you will find that you powder paint will go much further with much better results. I buy powder paint by the pound and I can paint A LOT of spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and jig heads with a pound of paint.
  4. Compact spinnerbaits are the key. I prefer a 1/4 or 3/8 ounce on a smaller frame. Blade choice can be up to you but agin I prefer a tandem colorado/willow combination. As long as the blades are turning you can catch fish. As far as colors go you should always try to match the hatch if you know the forage. If you are unsure you typically can't go wrong with white, chartreuse and white, or some variation of that. I believe a spinnerbait with a lighter wire puts off vibration just like a fleeing baitfish and if you put it where they live...they will attack it!
  5. No speed limit on chesdin anymore. I live on the lake and can assure you of that. The fish are there but info is going to be hard to come by. Chesdin is one of the best lakes in the state for big bass (if people believe it or not) but it is very hard to pattern. 2 weeks ago the winning sack of fish weighed 27lbs with a 5 fish limit. Good luck.
  6. If anybody saw the tournament in Florida that Shaw won you saw that he was using a craw bait with some form of red plastic piece just above the craw...what was that? any info would be appreciated.
