Anyone Have Any Luck In Southern Nh Yet? (4/6/12)
I usually fish the coves coming off the river with spinnerbaits and top water frogs. My PB was caught off a black and red spinnerbait. Some of the biggest Bass I've caught always came out of coves along with some Pickerel the size of Pike.

I absolutely love the Nashua River. Best Bass fishery around these parts, imo. Although I've never fished the NH side of the Nashua. I usually fish the Mass side and launch off at the Groton,Ma boat launch. My PB (photo in my profile) was taken out of the Nashua. I've seen guys pull 8-10lbers out of there. I also caught a Rainbow Trout near the bridge in Groton one time. I'm assuming it came from the Nissitissit River which flows into the Nashua.

When I went in early June fishing for Trout, I looked down along the rocks and seen two HUGE! LMB spawning. Tried my heart out to catch them but they just wouldn't take. Not sure why they aren't active in that pond. They're there, but they just don't hit.

Naw, you just need a canoe or kayak and know where to fish it. I have awesome luck fishing for trout but will agree the bass fishing is slow there. Although I have seen huge bass during spawning time but have never hooked into one.

I fish it in the spring and early summer for trout all the time. It's not a bad hike at all. It's about a 1/2 mile hike and is basically flat. It's also a beautiful place to hike, bike, walk, horseback and just take in nature. It is a very quiet and tranquil place to be. I love to go there sometimes just to relax and take in the scenery. Here's a photo I took this June when there.

It was surprisingly empty besides a few motorboaters flying up and down the water. A few fishermen but that was about it. I always do great there, haven't had a bad day yet. It being primarily private helps though. My Son's father inlaw has a key to the gate so we always get in with no problems.

Hit Lake Massabesic this morning with my son and only caught a few very small LMB each. These things were maybe 1/2 lb at best. He used a slugo and I had on a spinner bait. Had 2 HUGE bass follow our baits but they would just turn around and leave. Lots of sunfish attacking even the biggest lures! Those things are crazy, like Piranha's. Have to mention we were shore fishing only.

Wouldn't happen to be Big Island Pond would it? I went there last week and caught about the same amount in the 1lb range.

Has anyone been to Worlds End pond lately? Wanted to hit it up next weekend but not sure if it is worth it if it's to weedy.

Same here, there should be a law that banning the keeping of all Bass. If anyone wants to keep and eat fish try trout fishing, they arr stocked for that reason. Also Perch, Calico's and white Perch are very good eating.

What the hell? Is that even legal to have that many stripers?

Hey nmv welcome to the forum. Those are some nice looking LMB. Congrats on the PB. As far as I know, what you're seeing is the Sunfish and Crappies going through a feeding frenzy.

Yup, I live only 10 minutes down the road from it and don't go near it at this time of year. I usually fish the back side near Claire's landing and always do pretty good. Also, you definitely need a boat to fish it. With a boat you can find spots away from all the heavily fished areas.

Awesome job. The Nashua River is one of my favorite places to fish. I've caught tons of Largemouths well over 4lbs many times. My PB for a Largemouth, Pickerel and Crappie came out of the Nashua. Although I fish on the Mass side off of 119 in Groton. Place has crazy large Bass, Pickerel and crappies. I've even caught a Rainbow Trout under the bridge several years back.

As far as I know there is no boat size rules as long as you keep under the 30mph. I fish there all the time with a canoe I launch off of 28 bypass near the no fishing zone. Excellent fishery with all kinds of species to be caught.

Had a pretty good day yesterday. Caught several Largemouths, biggest being 2lbs. A few good sized smallmouths and even some big Calico Bass (aka Crappies). All caught at Lake Massabesic in Auburn.

Google Earth Or ? Anything Better ?
I recommend getting the NH atlas and gazetteer made from Delorme. It has all kinds of small fishing holes all around the state as well as hundreds of trails and ways to get to them. http://store.randmcnally.com/road-atlas/state-atlases-specialty-atlases/delorme-atlas-and-gazetteer-new-hampshire.html

deaknh03, on April 10 2012 - 11:57 AM, said: You bring a boat? .......................... This was from the other thread so i'll answer it here. Yes I do bring a boat deak. We usually bring a canoe, kayak or Jon boat, no motor. Anything bigger than that and you will bottom out. Like I said the place is pretty shallow.

I am so sick of so many of these small ponds/lakes (Bass Gems) being all private. When is NHF&G or the state of NH going to start buying small pieces of land and building more launch sites. I have so many awesome bass fisheries around me but can't excess them because they are all private.
