Went out for some smallmouth today and we got what we wanted! The first fish I hooked up with was without a doubt my biggest smallie... I thought I was on the bottom until I felt her head shake, then

Shane and I got out today, fished a new sport for the first time and put together an alright day. Lots of pickerel, some pretty small bass but I did manage my biggest fish of the year SO FAR at 6lbs o

  • What's up, everyone?! Figured I'd bounce on here, say hi. I got so tied up in chasing fish this year, I forgot to do anything else. I hope you all are happy and healthy in this new year, and have big

Um, nope. Tough day today with the front and the wind. Got out for a couple hours with NHBassmaster2, but didn't catch squat, except a stupid pickerel. I wonder if NHbassin had any better luck. He was out there today, too.

Wow. For you not to catch nothing I know they weren't bitting. Glad I stayed home today.

Got several SMB at Winnie today in front of Raouls Cove Did Swains Friday for a couple hours in the afternoon and got 2 smb and 3 lmb. The wind is not playing nice.

Wind has been ridiculous lately, so I asked the National Weather Service guys at work today. They explained it as there is a constant low pressure system in the gulf of Maine that just keeps circling and circling, not moving at all. Then with constant high pressure systems forming out west and making there way to our side, it is essentially squishing the atmosphere and creating a constant wind tunnel in the Northeast. He said expect to see these winds for the next week or two.

I was out around 8am this morning, fished shallow for a bit and didn't get a bite so I started casting a lipless crank out a little deeper and got a bass that wasn't much over a pound. I fished a small pond from shore a little later around 1pm and got 3 bass and snapping turtle. None of the bass had any size to them, but still fun. Can't wait till it warms up a little.

Still fun I agree. Good job. Can't wait till it warms up to.

Lots of pickerel in the Pennichuck this past week. atleast 20., 6 or 7 well over 20 inch , and 2 Largemouth in the 2 1/2 lb range out of the Pennichuck all from shore.

1 strong but small smallie out of the Nashua river and 2 , 2ish pb Lmb to go with him.

water temps still not 50

I thought pennichuck was Private?

No one has ever bothered me. I fish right from the shore at the roads in several places.

I clear and plain view. Many times right from the bridge on tinker road. I have never hopped or climbed over or under a fence. all right from Tinker road. I have never fished or tried to fish the Manchester road part of it where it is gated and fenced all around. Although I actually have walked around the new fence on Tinker road where the bridge goes over the highway. They just did a bunch of work and put new fences. They had a problem with 4 wheelers and dirt bikes in this area last year. The fences keep them out. I have been going and fishing Tinker road area right off the side of the road for close to all of my 50 years. My dad brought me just as his dad brought him in the 1940 era. And now i bring my grandson with a bucket of worms.

I have been kicked out of Rocky pond in Hollis twice. That is the only place anyone has ever said anything to me. I did park in the area that clearly states for Hollis residents only both times 9 i only know of this launch area) , unloaded my canoe said good morning to 2 people walking their dogs and 10 minutes later as i was getting ready to start paddling the police showed up and asked for my Hollis resident sticker. I was the only vehicle there. this was about 5:30 am. So i loaded back up and left.

I am so sick of so many of these small ponds/lakes (Bass Gems) being all private. When is NHF&G or the state of NH going to start buying small pieces of land and building more launch sites. I have so many awesome bass fisheries around me but can't excess them because they are all private.

You bring a boat? ..........................

This was from the other thread so i'll answer it here.

Yes I do bring a boat deak. We usually bring a canoe, kayak or Jon boat, no motor. Anything bigger than that and you will bottom out. Like I said the place is pretty shallow.

That's funny to hear about Rocky Pond. I fish there A LOT and I'm not a Hollis resident. I have even spoken to fish and game while I was there once last year. He didn't mention anything about being a resident, though it states it at the launch. Seen him a few times since while I was already on the water and he just waved. Who knows. Cunningham Pond is the same, but the town hired a high school girl to sit at the launch last year and check for stickers.

Got out today and I'm glad I did! Weather was great until 3pm-ish, no real wind, partly Sunny and 55deg! This weather will certainly start warming up the water! Watch for next week! The pre-spawn will be in FULL swing! Managed 12 fish total, 7 Smallies and 5 Buckets. Mostly 2-3lbr's, but got these twin 4lb (4.3lb and 4.7lb) Smallies! Ended up breaking the shear pin for my trolling motor some how and had to paddle back as I was in the tin boat. Was still worth it though!

4.7lb Smallie 4 11 12

4.3lb Smallie 4 11 12

No doubt! Nice work! Oh, and thanks for the tow!

th_668649fd.jpg?t=1334194657th_28078803.jpg?t=1334194654 Found myself with an extra 15ish minutes tonight about 8 pm. Stopped at the Tinker road bridge and threw a 3 1/2 inch jitterbug. Found these 2 willing to hit it.

2 NICE SMALLMOUTH THERE !!!! WOW ... What big water is that?

That is Jenness Pond. I wouldn't go there though, no good fish! :eyebrows:

Caught a nice 5lb lmb down below the four way in concord that connects rt4 and 106. Also a 2lb'r the day before. This was probably on saturday....

How did you get down there? I've heard that there is a pond down there as well. Any truth to that?
