  1. 5" hula grub on a football jig if fishing rocks and the cray fish are active. If not a brown or brown/red crank bait. Thats about as simple as I can make it, however I always seem to over think it... I think most of us do when it comes to fishing. haha
  2. really watch the spool but also start out with easy skipping baits. Like a skipping jig, or a large tube. Then move to other baits. But PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE will make you the best. I have seen some guys I fish with that can skip there baits into amazing spots that I thought was impossible to skip into! Good luck fishing!
  3. I always use the Gary Yamamoto Hula grubs. The only problem is the stupid smallies think its a real craw and eat the thing... one time I came into a weigh in with 3 fish with Jigs in there bellies and had to notify the tournament director of this so they did not think I was cheating. I hate to give away this tip but I will... I always fish my baits with football jigs, and I have used many brands. However if you want the absulate best jig, its the Jim Moynaghs jig. http://www.allterraintackle.com/products/rockjig.html hands down amazing jig! I fish a lot of heavy rock areas and this jig almost ALWAYS comes out. Just get above it and give it a pull and it comes right out. The hook ups are much better than any jig. The price is a bit high, but you never lose this jig so its worth it. Hope this helps.
