  1. Thanks for the reply. I used to drag 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2 oz rooster tails. I may need to be told to get one light duty rod and one heavy(ier) duty rod, I just thought I'd try to bridge the span between my fishing interests.
  2. Okay, I have spent the last few days reading reviews of all kinds and learning about the many options of rods and reels. I know better than to start a new 'best spinning reel' whatever thread. I think I have read through at least eight or ten of those wiithin the last 24 hours. My problem is that I have not owned fishing equipment for 15 yrs and my old stuff was given to me. Wanting to read about the proper use of equipment I have been overwhelmed by the task specific equipment available. I am getting back into fishing for two reasons. Reason 1) Benjamin and Gabriel, my two boys. Reason 2) I went fishing last week for the first time in 15 years and boy did I ever get the itch again... So here I am and I want one combo that will span the frequent fishing with my boys, blue gill and such to the catfish and bass fishing. Spinner reel is all I want, that's what I've used and picked up last week where I left off. I've read about weight and action, reels and rods. Here's are my questions: Would the Pflueger Trion GX 7 be a good choice for both types of fishing? If I bought the Pflueger Trion GX 7 with light action rod how confident could I be dragging a spinner bait for a bass? Sorry for the newbie type questions, and would appreciate comments, recommendations and other suggestions. All I can say is, "I just wanna fish, that's all!"
