  1. Heard good things about the Shimano compre and crucial and in my price range ($150 max) but they do not offer 2 piece rods in the size and power I want. Can anyone recommend a few others that I could look into that are similar in price/quality? Is quality compromised in 2 piece rods, it seems most baitcasting rods are all one piece and I assume there must be a reason for it, thanks for all of your help.
  2. cheapest one I can find is $140 shipped... Citica I have found $90 shipped
  3. yup 201 its lefty... thanks for all the replies guys/gals... am looking into the Shimano rod, might as well match the reel, thanks
  4. After doing some research I am going to purchase my first baitcasting rod/reel combo.. I have been a spinner fisherman for some time just fishing small streams and rivers for trout and want to start doing some bass fishing.. here is my idea for first rod/reel combo, I am trying to go for something that will be versatile for many types of fishing such as spinner/crankbait as well as jigging, let me know if this looks good for someone starting off and in the low to mid-range price area. shimano citica reel CI201E - 6.3 gear ratio - 27 IPT 6'6" Quantum tour edition PT series PTC666F - Power: MH Action: Fast Any advice, things to look for when selecting, etc would be appreciated, thanks!
