  1. Had this with a loose ground connection last year. Intermittent t/m work then stop.
  2. Motor guide said connect grounds to same terminal and I was thinking hook negs together with a jumper because someone did that in my old boat between crank and trolling. Why I have no idea. After thinking for a bit I figured it would be better to go to a ground bar. I have not checked but will call a dealer/mechanic next week to see if it is already that way.
  3. Just drove 3 hours for trokar flipping hooks. See tomorrow if it helps.
  4. Was using ewg hooks. Bait looked just like before I threw it. Not really bed fishing our fish are still holding off in about 5-6 foot of water. 7'6 mh rod with 65 lb power pro. Throwing gene larew rattling crawlers. I think my luck is just no good on big fish. lol if you haven't tried this bait u may wanna.
  5. Book that came with new trolling motor says I need a common ground to prevent corrosion and electrolysis and it would improve detail on sonar. I have the cranking battery and 2 more wired for 24 for trolling motor. To do this would I tie all 3 negative terminals together?
  6. Line or plastic showed no teeth marks or fraying and we saw both of the big fish so sure at least those two were bass. I took my daughter back to one of them the next day and it wrapped up and pulled off but she can not set the hook hard enough cause she is a bit small.
  7. This weekend a friend and I fished a tourney. Anyway we had 6-8 hook sets that were solid and then the fish would spit it out after a couple of seconds. The hook was still inside the plastic when we pulled it in the boat. Two of the fish were easily 7-8 lb fish and the others 3-5 lbers. Plastic was skin hooked and we were setting plenty hard. Were they maybe clamping in their mouths or what. 4/0 hooks 3/8 bullet weights and 4 inch creature baits.
  8. Sent you a private message. Good luck.
  9. So even with the 12/24 plug in being at the front you would recommend running new wiring and connecting batteries together? I can do it but would be much easier to use plug if it is safe and not a fire hazard.
  10. Bought a 90 model champion and going to replace trolling motor. It has a 12/24 evinrude and want to replace with a 24 volt Minn Kota. Motor I have now is hooked up to 3 wires coming through deck. Can I wire straight 24 to these or maybe buy the plug that will fit the female plug at front of boat. Or will I need to run heavier wire to front and hook trolling batteries together? What is the best way to do this change?
  11. I live within 5 miles of Sardis. It can be tough and I would recommend a boat. Lot of good water around mcalester. Bought a boat there last week and where we were test driving the guy showed me where several 9-10 pounders were caught. Ask a local to show you where the old number 2 landing is at. Eufaula is within a half hour too.
  12. A couple of my buddies caught 6 last Sunday. All were pretty decent fish, up to about 40#, and they let 3 or 4 get away. Also saw a guy that caught a 34 and a 38 from the same hole a couple weeks ago.
  13. I just purchased 3 new rods. 2 Veritas in 7'3" and 7'6" and a carbonlite in 7'. One thing I can say is they seem to allow me to throw about twice as far as a 7' lightning rod and I think that is an advantage with a crankbait.
  14. Too many friends in this tournament and I am worrying too much about someone getting mad. I have decided to let the boater go where he wants and I am just there to fish and enjoy myself. I think for either of us to camp on it all day would be stupid because there are weigh-ins every hour. This is my first tournament bigger than a 10 boat jackpot and I am not gonna let this stress me out. I want to enjoy it not fight with friends. We are planning to launch at 4:30 though. : )
