what other sites do u recommend for...
This is the site. I have been to Woo Daves, Hank Parker, Bassmaster and other bass fishing sites but this one is the best, by far. The people on this site are top notch. They will help you with any bass fishing related question. Just ask the question or do what I do, visit the various posts, read them, copy the ones I need for future reference and save on a Word document, or make notes. Glen is a super guy to not only set up this site but to manage it. Thanks Glen. Keep up the good work.

Boat Title Question
In Virginia you would contact the Game and Inland Fisheries to research the title. If the boat was stolen you will lose the boat to the law enforcement authorities. If the boat was not stolen then you should be able to obtain another title. Be careful!!!!

Abandoning Lowrance
I am planning to upgrade to a Lowrance next year but after hearing the horror stories I may get a Garmin. Please let us know if your problems were finally handled in a professional and prompt manner. Thanks.

line watching
I reel in the slack ASAP and watch the line near the water line. Or, while I am reeling in the slack I watch the line at the water line to see if it moves right or left. One of my friends had the line move towards him and that blew his mind. Yes, it was a bass and he finally set the hook. That is the only time I know of when the fish swims towards the boat. I also use my fingers when using a baitcaster to feel for differences in line pressure. Last weekend I caught a bass on a Senko (watermealon with red flake) and I saw the line run left on its way down so I set the hook. Lucky for me there was a fish on the other end. Good luck.

How long do you go fishing?
First, I fish on weekdays so the boat and jet ski traffic is very low. Second, I like to start out at sunrise and fish all day, finding a shady spot or a bridge for lunch. Third, I go in around 3 or 4 in the afternoon unless they start biteing again. My bass club fishes on Saturday or Sundays and we start around 6:30 AM and fish to 4 PM. I am going night fishing with a buddy who is also a guide and a pro next month so it will be interesting to fish at night.

High Humidity, No Wind - Where Should The Bass Be?
Fished the Chickahomony Lake in Virginia on Friday. Hot, muggy, no wind and lots of sun. No one on the lake was doing anything. The bite was really hard. Two guys on other boats told us that they had caught one each and that was about it. Even the bream and crappie were not active. The bowfin and pike disappeared. But it still beat being at work. We saw bald eagles and beavers plus other wildlife so the trip was a success!

What state are you from?
Richmond, Virginia. Grew up in Louisiana where the fishing is outstanding and now do 99% freshwater fishing as I am spoiled as there is no comparison between the Chesapeake Bay and southern Louisiana. Southern Louisiana fishing is fantastic. After Florida, I think it is the best place for all around fishing in the USA.

Help! Newbie needs to pick a Battery Charger
The onbaord charger on my Tracker died so I use a portable marine charger that does a great job. At the Classic in Pittsburgh I spoke with the Dual Pro Charger representative and was very impressed with their products. You may want to consider installing a charger with two banks, one for the trolling motor and a second for the cranking battery. You can obtain more information about the Dual Pro Chargers at... www.dualpro.com Denny Brauer is hawking these battery chargers so they can't be but so bad!!!! I plan to replace the onboard charger on my Tracker 185 with another one this fall and I may go with the Dual Pro Charger Pro SE or Dual Pro SE or maybe the Dual Pro XL. Let us know what you did.

Need some pricing opinions
Never had the carpet replaced in my boat but I would think a few phone calls to dealers would give you a ball park idea. Good luck.

bass boating
All my friends who have and I/O do not like them.

Does anyone know.....
Never heard of this name. Do you think it is spelled differently? Maybe it is one of the names of a model of a boat.
-
Bent skeg ????
DD, you may want to take it to the dealer to make sure that is the only damage to the hull and motor mount. A detailed look-see by a qualified mechanic is well worth the money.

Used Boat Buyers BEWARE
Thanks for the headsup. I guess purchasing a used boat is just like purchasing a used car. Except with the cars you can find out about them if you have their ID number.

How & when do I fish a fluke?
I fished in my local club's tournament on the Rappahannock River and the guy who I was fishing with was using a small green fluke with a lime tail rigged Texas style with an unpegged bullet sinker. The fluke was about 3 inches long. I think it was a Zoom product. He caught lots of small bass and one keeper. I caught my keeper on a Senko after I threw in the spot he had just missed one with his small green fluke. Needless to say, the fishing was hard. Top catch was 5 bass for a total of 10 pounds. But I am getting some of those small green flukes as I have seen them work on Buggs Island and now on the Rappahannock River.

Pay $$$ to fish??
In Virginia we pay about $5 to launch our boat at private boat ramps. There is a charge at the state operated launch on Eastland Creek on Kerr (Buggs Island). Don't mind the charge if the money is used for upkeep and maintenance.

Boat Rankings
With all the bass boats on the market today, what are your opinions about which ones are the top of the line and which ones are at the bottom of the list. I think the rankings can parallel automobiles. We know that Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Hummer, Range Rover and Caddilac are at the top of the list while Saturn and Kia models are at the bottom. I also saw my first Bullet up close and personal and that is a beautiful boat but I have no idea where it would fit into a listing of bass boats from top to bottom. Thanks to all for your input.

Started fishin Bass About 4 weeks ago.
Also, other good books to get: Bass Wisdom by Homer Circle and Baits for Bass by Wade L. Bourne, senior writer for Bassmaster Magazine. Bass Wisdom will show you how to rig various baits. Search the web for fishing sites. There are may. Check out Woo Daves site plus Hank Parker's site. Invest some money and go with a fishing guide and tell him you are just beginning and he can show and tecah you a lot of information. It takes time but in one or two years you will be up to speed with everyone else.

Some suggestions to consider: Suscribe to magazines such as Bassin, Bass Times and Bassmaster. Attend Bassmaster University. Purchase these videos: Bigmouth, Bigmouth Forever and Feeding Habits of Bass. Check out the videos and DVDs at Bass Pro Shop. Order the Bass Pro Shop Catalog. Visit local tackle shops and find out what others are purchasing and where they are fishing. Got to www.bassmaster.com for a lot of information. Join a bass club. And best of all, just go out and fish and experiment. Good luck.

Who do you go after for a sponsor and why?
Will is correct for the fishing industry but why not try to get sponsors outside of the fishing industry? Look who sponsors Little League Baseball teams - its not the baseball industry. You would do well with a mix of sponsors both in and out of the fishing industry. Good luck.

Polarized Sunglasses
I wear prescription sunglasses. They are in heavy frames but they are super. Also will use the snap on lens. Hate wearing contact lens when fishing. Had too many problems with them so only wear glasses.

Spinnerbait
Mann's Hank Parker's "The Classic" 3/4 ounce white and chartruse spinner bait is my favorite. You need to add the trailer that comes with it. It seems to do well with a trailer hook, too.

Who would you want to fish with???
Jimmy Houston. Experience. Humor. Fun. A great all around guy.

Fishing guest coming from Georgia
Sorry the fishing trip did not work out for LBH and if Ryan is truthful it is a shame his father is in jail. But we can't select our parents. I only take kids fishing if their parent goes along. Believe me, it is much safer for everyone if the child's parent is in the boat for the entire venture.
