ticked Off, First Time Out Loomis Broke
^that is correct. To reiterate that in a lighter tone. It is a lifetime warranty (not one year), on manufacturers defect, you just gotta pay shipping, and you'll need a receipt for that, or unless your local shop keeps a receipt in their system. But if you broke it and it's deemed not a manufacturers defect, then you pay $125 no questions asked, known as the expediter service, and no receipt is needed. That's what my local shimano/loomis rep told me. Seems fair. Or everyone (which was probably happening) would break their rods just to get a nice fresh clean one.

Spin Casting Rod With Bait Casting Reel
that's in agreeance with what I know, I'm not too verse on the subject though. from what I (think) I know, a rod blank isn't uniform, the backbone is on one side of the blank. When building rods, it's important to position the backbone a certain way when putting on the guides. A rod should bend downwards (like a human bending to touch their toes) and the backbone should support the elastic stress (like a persons backbone). Using a baitcast reel on a spin rod, would be like a person trying to touch their heels bending backwards, it probably wouldn't work too well. that's what I've gathered from my limited research on rod building. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

looking to throw it on lake erie btw, if that helps.

Bsr803 Glx/mossy
would this be a good rod for dedicated tube dragging? bsr803 mossy/glx - 6'8" 8-14lb, 1/8-5/16, Xfast, med-heavy (it has a picture of a tube on the rod, not sure if that means anything) i normally use mostly 1/2oz, pretty rarely 1/4 upto 3/4oz , how accurate is this rating from loomis? And extra fast is more ideal for setting hooks on tubes right? or would this be better? SJR843 IMX 7', 8-15lb, 3/16-3/4oz, Fast, Med-Heavy these are my choices, as I have a rod I don't use and want to trade for one of these.

Glass Crank Rod Opinions
I was looking at the 704 today, decided to do some more research before I pick it up. I mosty crank 8-16ft, DT's bombers spros, would you think the 704 is good for that? or the 705 is better? 704's available locally for me, would have to order from shop the 705.....hate ordering though, once I got my eye on a rod, i want it ASAP.

Pflueger Supreme.....did I Get A Dud?
Went back, they all make that noise. Probably the last time I'm gonna look at a pflueger product. $100 reel should be better than that. I never expected it to be a stradic, but did expect a relatively quite smooth reel that doesn't make noises and feel clicky during retrieve. 80% sure gonna pick up a second stradic, unless I find something worth it btw $100-$175.

Pflueger Supreme.....did I Get A Dud?
really? is pflueger that bad? i did a search here before I bought it, and found that most people had nothing but good things to say about this and their other reels (including j franco, who's suppose to be pretty knowledgable about this stuff?).

Pflueger Supreme.....did I Get A Dud?
dam that's weird.....when holding horizontal there's no noise....but the more vertical you hold it, the louder it is. anyone got one laying around they wanna test that?
-
Pflueger Supreme.....did I Get A Dud?
nybassin, the way you described it ..........is exactly what mines doing. It's probably why i didn't notice it in the store, and weirdly, the sound is almost unnoticable when mounted on a rod for some reason....weird

G Loomis Warranty
is it possible to get a replacement with no sales reciept? has anyone done it? did see on their website that says reciept required, just wondering if it's possible without.

Pflueger Supreme.....did I Get A Dud?
I can't stand a clicking noise like that .... gonna go back tomorrow, if the supremes make that noise, I will get a different reel. btw pflueger supreme 7.4oz reel for dropshotting, for $100 bux.....awesome buy if it doesn't make that noise. stradic Ci4 7.2oz for $220, definately a noticibaly smoother reel. if money is kind of tight, but the stradic price is not completely out of reach, which would you buy?

Pflueger Supreme.....did I Get A Dud?
I mean when I spin the handle, and the spool goes up then down like a piston .... it makes a tiny click when the piston (spool) is at it's max height, and a slightly less audible click when at it's min height. sry, spinning. 8030mg pflueger supreme
-
Pflueger Supreme.....did I Get A Dud?
there's an annoying click that I didn't notice in the store. when spinning it, when the spool hits it's top it makes a click, when it hits it's bottom it makes click but slightly lighter .......its not suppose to be like that right?

Most Bass You've Boated?
^that's nuts .... lot of dinks though? not 176 2-3lbers+ right?
-
Most Bass You've Boated?

Loomis Cbr903
anyone have any experience with these? looking to crank 7-16ft.

Loomis Dsr820S
^I'm thinking the same ....gonna go take a look at the shops tomorrow. I prefer the GLX though, don't think 822's come in that. can someone help me clear something? I have a loomis sitting on my desk here, rated 3/16-5/8 and is a med heavy, which I think is a little over powered for what I do. The 820 is rated 1/8-3/8 but is a mag lite ... how does that work? Is the power rating and the lure weight rating completely unrelated? I fished another GLX med heavy, lure weighted 1/8-5/16 which I think is perfect for what I do. Would that make this 820 pretty similar to that since it's 1/8-3/8? I'm not really sure what mag lite means too.
-
Loomis Dsr820S
specs say 1/8-3/8oz ....probably too light I'm thinking? anyone have experience with this rod DS'ing this deep?
-
Loomis Dsr820S
I normally DS and drag tubes 25-35 fow , on 3/8-3/4oz weights. Wondering if this is a good rod for that.
