Tag Line Length On Dropshot Rig
When I tie my Dropshot rig, should if leave my tag length long? In other words is it OK to have excessivel line coming out of my Dropshot weight in order to lengthen or shorten my height off the bottom. I don't want to keep having to retie my rig in order to adjust the length off the bottom.

Quantum Escalade Reels
Doesn't seem bad for the money. Aluminum frame and side plate. Also 16 pounds of drag.

Quantum Escalade Reels
Anyone use the Quantum Escalade reels from Dicks? Both the baitcast and spinning reels look like Accurist reels. Didn't feel too bad in the store.

Shimano Solstace Binding
There is no friction ring on the Solstace. May have gotten some grease /oil on the AR bearing. I will clean and remove the lube if there is any on the bearing. Can the A R bearing be run dry?

Shimano Solstace Binding
Cleaned and relubed again this morning. Seems ok now. Still have a bit of back play in the handle. I'll see how it works out.

Shimano Solstace Binding
Finally got some good weather today and did a little shore fishing. Caster for about 30 minutes(no fish) and my reel started to become hard to turn. This happened to me last year when I was fishing in the rain so I tore it down, cleaned and lubed the reel. Worked well up until today. Reel was not exposed to water. Also, after I flip the bail over after a cast, I can move the handle about a half inch backward. Is my anti reverse bearing going? Does anyone know what is causing the binding? The reel seems to be lubed and bearings seem Ok. Need to get my new reel spooled up, I think this reel is on its last legs(3 years old).

Daiwa Lexa Spinning Reel
What is the actual weight of the 2500? Daiwa's site says 8.9 oz and tackle warehouses site lists the 2500 size at 9.9 oz.

Daiwa Lexa Spinning Reel
Thanks. I ordered the 2500. It's a bit heavy for the rod I wanted to put it on. Much heavier than a Shimano 2500 size reel. Should have looked at the specs more. Going to exchange for a 2000 size.

Upgrading Bearings - Shimano Reels, What Is In There Originally
May be a dumb question but when you say the bearing must be smooth do you mean free spinning? Should you hear the bearings?

Are you talking about the friction ring under the rotor on the Symetre? What's the point of this ring?
