I release all of my bass, like most others here. But if they are gut hooked, sometimes you just have to take them home and fry them up. Bass actually taste pretty good. I also have no complaints about people who selectively harvest them in areas where it is legal and the bass population is good. Nothing wrong with eating them when they will die from a bad hooking.

When the weather gets warmer, I may try to fish this bait with this, and maybe try to land a big one. Could work, right?

Hi guys. Just found a pack of these in an old tackle box. Never used them before. Has anyone tried these or anything similar? Do you think ot would be effective, and how would you rig and fish a bait like this? Thanks.

This little traditional guy does great for me in the winter and when times are tough. Decades of effectiveness.

Yeah I’ve heard some people cut off the long hook on the front treble. Seems to be working great for me so far though.

I know people mostly use soft plastics these days, and I also like Senkos and similar baits. But for me, there’s still nothing like the constant engagement and challenge of using a nice crankbait. Any people here who also love cranks? Btw, this is one of my favorites. Rapala DT-Flat.
