Hi,
I have recenly had the chance to pick up the rod again after a long break. My favorite kind of fishing is hunting down the smallmouth in smaller, walkable streams/creeks/rivers. There is a creek through Honeoye Falls that produces some beautiful fish, and is the depth such that you slip on sandals, and can walk from hole to hole with an ultralight setup. As a kid I used to rate a day of fishing with a 'fish per minute" score. Many red-eyes, but the 16+ inch smallmouths are well worth the hunt (I can reccomend a few nice holes around there if anyone wants). But now I live in the city and am looking for a similar kind of experience up here. If anyone can turn me on to any of such spots, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
