  1. I'll second kybasser91 post about insering a nail weight in the tail of a Zoom Centipede (the ones by Lunker City are perfect for this), make sure to use a 2/0 offset hook not an EWG for this application (I'm partial to the owner hook). I like to throw it on 7' med action spinning rod with braided line with a 2' blood knot tied florocarbon leader. My favoite colors are Junebug, Green Pumpkin and the underrated but deadly Smoke Purple. This bait also is terrific for skipping under docks etc. This is one of my go to baits when the water's calm and the sky is blue, it always puts fish in the boat. The nice thing about this set -up is I can switch to a thin senko with that same hook for a different look with another deadly bait. The Thin Senko I throw weightless.
  2. It would be impossible for me to pick one, but I'll go with a Green Pumpkin Trick worm because it'll produce anyway you fish it. My favorite mid summer worm would be the 10" Berkely Ribbon tail, though I'm intriqued by the Anaconda.
  3. Brian, I've done very well at times with the River to Sea V joint wake bait size 95 Chartreuse Shad, for me these have outperformed the more expensive Jackall Mikey baits. The most productive jointed crank style that I've trid so far has been the Lucky Craft RC 2.75" Wake baits in the Purple Shad, well worth the money IMO.
  4. Matt, the bait looks awesome! I was curious to the length and app. weight of this lure. Thanks.
  5. I've done well with the River to Sea V joint minnows which are reasonably priced and catch a lot of fish, done real well on the wake series Chartreuse Shad color, I've also caught some nice ones on the Strike King Shads in the Blue Gill color.I've caught a few over 5 plus on these which are nice size bass in SW Michigan. One last one that I like for conventional eqipment would be the Matt Lures Baby Bass series. Good Luck
  6. It's pricey but I'm huge fan of the Jackall Muscle Deep 15 Plus. In addition to being an excellent producer it's probably the most easily retrieved deep diving crank that I've tried due to it's smaller profile. I wish the would add a few more colors.

Sam, you'll love the excalibur pop r, great bait. In addition to some of the Lucky Craftbaits mentioned earlier Ive done welll with the new Rick Clunn Wake Bait 2.75" along with the the Marty Stone BDS 1.2 for a finnesse "limit getter" crankbait.
  8. I've done well with the jacobs jig from bite me tackle, it 's a bullet shaped head with a 60 degree line tie, light weedguard and a very good design on the trailer keeper, if I'm fishing a clean bottom I might use a football head.
  9. Here's my first post, on the subject of topwaters my favorite popper is easily the Yellow Magic. I rotate several types of walking baits as each has different characteristics that I will utilze based on the conditions at hand. I like to use the Sammy when the water is calm to a light ripple, this one has a subdued rattle that usually does'nt spook bass when they are wary. If the fish are rattle shy then I'll go to the original Zara Spook or a wood Sammy. If I really want to get their attention or the water has some chop I have had crushing strikes on the Reaction Innovations Vixen, Bone color for overcast conditions and the Silver Flitter shad color for clear water/clear skies. Another great producer this year has been the Lucky Craft Rick Clunn wakebait 2.75" in the Purple Shad color, I've become a huge fan of this bait. Lastly, on the subject of Buzzbaits in addition to the cavitron I've done well on the Honeybuzz, on this one the blade hits the head of the bait and makes a most pleasantly obnoxiuos sound that at times really calls out the bass. Good luck, hope you do well
