  1. Hey guys, The last month in Georgia has been pretty crazy. We have seen record rains, and it's come to the point where it rains at some point EVERY day. And these rains aren't light, they are monsoons, complete down pours. We in Georgia are used to these sporadic thunderstorms, as they're rather common for us. The incredibly annoying aspect of this is the daily rainfall. It doesn't stop me from fishing, it has just completely changed the environment I'm fishing in. The water level is much higher, the water is incredibly murky, and the fish are just not biting at all. I've tried everything that people have suggested, be it going to darker colors, larger profile baits, slowing down, and using noisier baits. I'm just on a medium sized pond, that is generally pretty good for fishing, but I just have not found any success recently. Hoping y'all could give me some tips. Much appreciated, PB

  5. With the summer basically here in the south, we're pulling out our topwaters for exciting action. Which style do you prefer for the summer, a frog, buzzbait, pencil, popper, soft plastics, etc? What's your favorite lure, and how do you like to fish it? I know my favorite, the old fashioned walk the dog- zara spook combination, Good luck this summer, and tight lines! PB
  6. With summer upon us basically in the south, we're pulling out our topwaters and as usual there are a million different lures, styles, and presntations. Which are your favorite for the summer? Frogs, buzzbaits, pencils, soft plastics, etc? What specific ones do you like and how to you like to fish them? Personally, I go with the good ole walk the dog with a zara spook. Good luck this summer, PB
  7. As summer is basically here for us down in the south, topwaters have made their way from sitting out the winter in the tacklebox to the tip of our rods for the summer. Which style of topwater is your favorite? A frog, pencil, concave face, buzz bait, etc. Which ones do you have the most success with and when do you use them? Good luck this summer, PB
  8. Hey guys, I'm sure this has been discussed a million times, but basically, I'm going through my first spawn bass fishing this year, and I'm kind of clueless. On one shoreline of the neighborhood lake I fish in, I could count a solid 35 fish (at least) up in the shallows. It was one of the coolest things I've seen on the water, seeing pods of 6 plus keeper size bass swimming together in throughout the day. I got VERY frustrated though, between not being able to catch them and losing a 5 plus pound bass right at the boat. The small ones were not skiddish at all, I could walk up to them and they wouldn't swim away. The few big ones I happen to see, the big females, we're surrounded by 3 or 4 smaller males Im assuming, and were very skiddish. I casted to them all day; using plastic worms and a spinnerbait parallel to the shore. I could only get 3 in 5 hours. It was miserable seeing all of the fish there, just look at my baits then go along their way. What do you suggest, how do I get the bigger fish, or even just the smaller ones, to bite? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, PB
  9. Weathers looking great for us down south all week. Unfortunately, I have to wait until Friday. Really hoping the weather follows the predicted forecast then can't wait to start throwing my topwaters! Didn't throw them as much as I should have last year, just making me want to chuck them more this year!
  10. I'm just curious because you see largemouths down here what have amber, red, yellow, and more colors and it doesn't seem to have a pattern or significance to anything else. Not sure if the same applies for smallies.
  11. Feeling at a disadvantage since George Perry caught his fish here. At least there's some possibility I could catch the worlds biggest bass... But I'm in.
  12. Hey guys, While fishing today, I caught multiple bass, and noticed how they all had different eye colors. I've noticed it the whole time I've fished, but have never really been that interested until I actually payed attention to it. So, my question is, what does different eye color mean? Its probably hereditary, but I'm just curious if any of you knew of it be to off any importance. Thanks, PB
  13. I'll move this to the southeast forum.
  14. Zoom trick worm. First cast in a pond I found on google maps, my fishing partner had one on. They will work well if there are fish because the pond will have probably received minimal pressure from other anglers.
  15. Probably should have know that wouldn't go well with you guys up north. I get the same feeling as you guys back in Decemeber when all the Florida guys are starting spawning (But then again, I'm sure its just as bad for you guys, too).
