I have the same rod. The extra power helps set the hook. Great rod for jigs and worms. Unaware of a reel seat issue. I use a Lews Speed Spool with 50# 832 braid

Always? No. Use a quality jig and count on the strands to do the work.

The only thing I dont like about my speed spool is the spool tension and drag dont click when you adjust them

Also considered an older curado supertuned. Too many options at this price lol

I was more curious on weight differences and drag systems than brand. These are going on a legend tournament for jigs and plastics with 12 yozuri btw

Which is a better reel between the Abu's then?

Had a chance to use my Diesel 6103MEF (spinning) Love the power and action, plenty of backbone. Not worried about breaking it in the future after the workout it got today. Sensitivity is good too though it is a little tip heavy when paired with my President. I like the grip, kinda wish it had a foregrip though and I managed to bend the hook hangar pretty easily today fighting a fish in. All in all a pretty good rod for only $70

They worked for me today in KS. Used a Trokar 5/0 worm hook with no weight and fished it the same I would a smokin rooster. Love the split belly and the slot for the point. Caught a fish on the third cast after using another swimbait for 15 min. Cant wait for USPS to bring the other 3 colors I ordered from TW

Pretty common for crappie fisherman to use another jig on the bottom

Ultimately the store is setting the price to meet their specific margin. When I am in BPS or Cabelas etc. I always see the higher price LC and Jackal lures next to cheaper SK and Bomber lures. Why? To merchandise against each other and trick consumers into thinking that one premium lure is better than a handful of the other. I don't see an oil price jump making a large enough impact to affect the price either. How many plastic lures do you think you could make out of a 55g drum?
