Yeah this year has been the worst I have seen, non typical spawning habbits for sure,bass will (and I mean some not all) spawn more than once. It is very difficult to come across them, but it's a fact.

Sure why not, that's the advantage you will have as a District biologyst,and working for the state.

Def good spawn area...do you have a depth finder, you need to locate structure of some sort. Locate decently deep structure such as: trees,stumps, or rock beds...they will be around the area...try fishing the shallows early and late day.

Burn the bank around forage, you will catch one and the blade really doesn't matter, coloring it will just camoflouge the blade....the bait is only good for the sound and vibration it makes.

The rig works, I use it only when pleasure fishing. Tournements it should be a no-no.

Yea it's hard to beat TW, shoot I know I spend an easy $50 on tackle and it's $5 to ship in a couple days or $10 next day.....awsume service.

The x-rap is awsume too. You mentiond grass and weeds that's why I would go with a plastic swimbait of your choice and fish it weedless.

Shallow crankbait, imitation of bluegill....or a fluke. Xcalibur and Strikeking both have great imitations for the $. Lucky Craft BDS 3 is awsume, but man quite $$. Oh and Livetarget.

In all honesty I try not to think about the inevitable of it ever happening, just that it may just like anything else, we are not promised tomorrow just today, so I reakon I will just keep fishing until it happens or I go away.
