If i were to keep it close to Virginia Dare area (may be on a kayak) anyone have some tips that direction>?

I have some flies i could make that happen with ......

..... may have to bring the doc along to stitch up the back of my head ....... what general locations would be most productive (main channel points, back water coves/docks, etc.)? Pop lives back where Virginia Dare is ... if that makes a difference. Thanks - if you see a guy bleeding out there stop by and say hi.

Headed down that way this weekend to visit my dad. Any pointers for someone trying to get out and fish? Is it worth attempting with the fly rod? thanks.
