  1. South County here, actually Oakville. Also spend a lot of time at LOZ.
  2. Harva started following Lake Of The Ozarks
  3. Oldplug, you certainly don't owe anyone an apology for your typing. Hat's off to you for using the ipad. Keep adding your comments. I always like hearing what the 'experienced' fishermen are doing on Lake of the Ozarks.
  4. I was at the Lake last weekend. Caught a couple of small ones and a nice 4 pounder. The warmest water I found was 47 in Linn Creek. I think this coming week with the warmer days and nights staying in the mid to upper 40's should help a lot. Looking forward to being back there next week.
  5. I think I might try the shakyheads a little bit also. Will definately be exploring the windy side of the docks. I haven't fished a jigging spoon though. Any special techniques for the sppons? I do have a great chunk rock steep bank in mind that will get a lot of casts. Twenty five feet deep just 5 to 10 feet from the bank. Have caught a few along that in the past. The only problem it will not be in the sun most of the day, so it might not warm as fast as other areas.
  6. I'll be heading to LOZ this weekend. Weather looks to be sunny, 8 to 12 mph winds, and water temps in the low 40's. Will be mainly in the Linn Creek area, limited boating distance. I plan on throwing jerkbaits and jigs. Anyone have any other ideas or thoughts? Any reports lately?
  7. Oakville here too, Dan. Where do you usually fish?
  8. I have a carbonlite also and really enjoy it. Extremely light weight. Just yesterday I caught a 4+ pounder using a buzzbait with that rod. Was a ton of fun. Only bad thing is the tip snapped between the second guide and the tip. Called BP when I got home, they said bring it in and they would replace it. I now have a new one. I appreciate great customer service and I feel that's what I received! Great rod but the addition of the carbon does seem to make them very brittle.
  9. Ok Friends, I've been away from LOZ for a few weeks, what's the report?
  10. What's a "Fruit Jar" tournament? How does that differ from other tournaments?
  11. Nice fish! Congratulations!
  12. welcome Steve, I too enjoyed your interview with G Lewis.
  13. New member from the St.Louis area. I fish mostly at Lake Of The Ozarks. Bass and Crappie are my favorite. I hope to learn a lot here and meet some new friends.
  14. I also picked up a 6'6"carbonlite medium micro-guide. I can't believe how light that rod feels. Looking forward to using it with my new Browning Midas. Anyone used that combination before?
  15. Nick, how's the crappie fishing been? I'm hoping to get to the lake this weekend. I see the water temp is still about 41, might be a little cool yet? Bought some new gear at BPS sale and itching to give it all a try.
  16. I'm still using my 408 from about 1974 or so. I have it mounted on a Garcia ultra light rod, but I don't have the rod number handy. I had to save my money to buy that rod and reel back then, perhaps that's one reason it has a special place in my fishing arsenal, but it just feels so comfortable to me. I couldn't begin to count the number of crappie that's been pulled out of the water with that rig. It's good to hear these reels are still appreciated!
