Here in North Carolina boat insurance is not mandated. However I am strongly considering a full policy for my boat and my trailer. Just wondering if you guys have full insurance or at least liability on your vessels even if it's not required? A few people have suggested not to ensure it and just be careful. However for less than $200 a year I feel I may be better off to do it.

My boat is an older 90's model with the Johnson on it. It has 5 settings on it that I can move it in position. Can't I just keep it in the center and do it that way?

My bass boat needs a wire replaced for the trim switch to work. Can I still use the boat util I fix it? I heard I could but I just have to be mindful of take off speeds until the boat gets to cruising speed and levels out.

So in my case I could just still connect the charger directly to the battery while it is wired with the terminals?

I have my little battery for my electronics. It is about the size of a brick. It has a trickle charger I ise for it overnight after I use the battery. Question is, can I use the trickle charger for the big "car" battery that is used to starty boat motor? If so, do I have to take it out or can I connect it while the terminals are still attached while the battery is still in the boat compartment?

So I saw a small (about the size of a golf ball) oil puddle under the skeg of my Johnson 70 two stroke, right under the prop. I have been idling the boat for about 30 seconds one or two times during the day the last couple days to test out some new fuel and electrical modifications. I researched online that this was normal with the 50:1 ratio as it does not burn all of that oil for such short running times. Anyone else have this issue or heard of this before? Oil is not gold in color, looks jet black.

Mine is "$5 Fishing Game". Christmas day of 2011 I got a $5 fishing game for my PS2. That day I started my fishing addiction. I loved the game and I actually went to Walmart that day and bought fishing gear with my gift cards and went to the lake. Cold day but that's how boat got the name and how I started fishing. (hence my screen name)

Not sure I can get that lucky again lol
